Review Time
There was a nice selection of wine refrigerators. I've had mine for about two months now. So far it is working well. It is attractive. I like the dim blue light it gives off when the light is switched on. I also like the temperature locking feature. My only real complaints are: that it took a long time to be delivered - but that isn't that big of a deal; and, it can be powered off easily. When the glass is being cleaned or you accidentally lean against it, you can easily hit the power switch and not realize you've turned it off until things are warmed up inside. Also not a big deal now that I know that and am conscious to make sure I check it from time to time. I'm happy with my purchase.
I purchased the 150+/- bottle Vinotemp Wine Cooler from Costco. I place it in my study adjacent to my desk. I am keeping both temperature zones at the 55 degree mark. The unit is very quiet. I did notice a little more noise when I attempted to reduce the temperature of the lower zone to 52 degrees, so I decided to equalize both at 55 degrees -- cool enough. It is a very clean and modern looking unit and keeps my wine collection at the desired temperature. It has been about 6 weeks since I purchased it and all is well. It is well made with metal shelves, including the edge of the sliding shelves that retain the bottles. Bottles (750 ml) fit nicely on the shelves and the shelves are very sturdy.
We really enjoy our Vinotemp wine cabinet. We’ve had it nine years and have had to replace the cooling unit twice. Delivery of this most recent cooling unit was complicated by Vinotemp entering the wrong delivery address, which delayed repair/maintenance of our unit and ALMOST resulted in the unit being returned to Vinotemp because the unit could not be delivered to the wrong address. So four stars may be a generous rating. While the unit functions well, I think replacing the cooling unit twice in less than ten years is an indication of poor quality, and I was frustrated by the delivery delay.
Got my Vinotemp 156 bottle wine cooler from Costco. So far it has provided more storage that my Wine Enthusiast wine cooler, and thought it’s larger, it’s a lot quieter. The dual zone is an excellent feature. I can’t speak to the accuracy temperatures, I like my whites chilled at 50° and my reds at 58°. I’ll get an independent thermometer to how accurate the temps are. Happy with the purchase!
