We are neighbours to a development. Disgusting company. They have damaged our home, and refuse to repair. Ignored planning. Told us lies. Blocked access to our home for several days at a time, left us without electricity and used a neighbouring plot as a spoil dump, now completely overlooking our back garden causing a complete loss of privacy. Raised the level of the surrounding ground and filled in historical drainage ditches causing water logging. Then there's the aggressive contractors, speeding vehicles, dust, the noise and light pollution.
Houseofbrokenpromises.net is the perfect words to describe what we have experienced. Moving into our forever home in Stortford Fields back in Dec 2018 should have been one of the most happiest moments of our lives. It was what we had dreamed of. This was what we had worked so hard all our lives for. It is what every new home owner wants to feel - a sense of achievement and relief. This was far from the truth. Standing in the doorway of our new home, my husband said what exactly I was thinking ... "Oh crap, what have we done...." We could never have ever expected, from that moment on, that our lives would be changed forever...Breach of Regulations ...Within weeks, we had pages of issues raised with Vistry. Months later, we uncovered numerous serious breaches of Regulations, which to this day, after 2 years, are still outstanding causing more damage to the property. We longed to put our stamp on our new home, but couldn't until all the major issues have been resolved. The property, in its current state is non-compliant to Building Regulations and NHBC Technical Requirements and therefore is unsaleable unless these issues are corrected. By not rectifying the current non-compliant issues, Vistry has breached the legal contract for sale which states in condition 7 that “ the seller will construct the dwelling in a good and workmanlike manner; in accordance with planning permission and building regulations approval; to the standards required by the National House Building Council (NHBC)."Our current outstanding snag list is 52 pages long. Issues raised with a developer, within the first 2 years of warranty, must be put right by them to meet the responsibilities of Section 2 of the Buildmark. Therefore, the ultimate question is, why has this not been the case? We have concrete evidence including an Expert Witness Report by an independent FRICS Surveyor with over 35 years post qualification experience of construction and property matters. We even have written confirmations, which in a court of law is legally binding. Yet still they want to ignore us. I should be resting as I'm battling an incurable cancer, but I can't because I'm also fighting Vistry with this injustice. Read about our nightmare experience at houseofbrokenpromises.net Share to help us and others get heard. Thank you.
Lost my £1000 deposit after they failed to provide estimated completion date or contract within 1 month of deposit as was told would happen. When covid struck they stopped building and could not be contacted. When I paid deposit I was told work was ahead of schedule and completion would be end Sept before Covid. I wouldn't risk a deposit with them as they don't want to take any blame when things go wrong, and they ignore your emails when it suits them.
Got this new apartment. Defect co-ordinator is very slow in give us a response and the whole process of dealing with snagging issues is very slow. Need to send them two emails everyday to remind them again and again. Also, they have worst soundproofing in the apartment. Tube underground passes by from our apartment and its a shock to hear tube noise after every 5 mins.
******************Avoid at all Costs******************I had an offer accepted on a property in Perranporth and there were many structural issues and concerns raised by my solicitor and I which were ignored by the Coast Development for 2 months - If I am honest I had read the reviews about this company and I was very guarded going into the sale process . I have now pulled out of the deal and I have probably dodged a bullet - I must express how unprofessional these people are and are ONLY concerned with getting your money - The customer service and complaint handle is appalling ............If you want problems ignore this review and try them out.................It was the best thing I ever done as I honestly believe I was heading for a major headache not only with the property but with the lack of mistrust I built up over a short space of time. There are other options out there and trust me you are better off not dealing with these people.
Do not ever buy a house from these cowboys! The sales team lie to you and you are continually lied to once you complete the purchase. House has so many defects it has taken 15 months to get some corrected and we are still fighting to get the others done. The issues with our house have consumed our lives since purchasing our home. Customer care is poor. All they are concerned about is getting your money - forget about quality building! Dreadful experience that has become the bane of our lives.
Avoid these at all costs. Appalling builders and customer care. Bodge up builders, we have had a never ending list of problems including, over priced house, boiler connected incorrectly, holes in brickwork/ missing mortar, water leaking through ceiling from under bath, front door warped, this list goes on.Cretinous con artists, liars and bodge up builders. Avoid Avoid Avoid!
