They completely messed up the migration from Quadra Hosting. Lost a weeks worth of work and a lot of money. Cheap hosting is not worth it.Edit: To their credit, they called, found the correct backup and restored it within 12 hours. I thought it was all gone forever
Avoid this company at all costs! Quadra migration attempt #2 because the first one was such a classic stuff up my sites were offline for a week. The second migration appeared to go well until it didn't. Then there's radio silence or we have to escalate to senior admins and then radio silence. Support is terrible. They are more interested in how they did with their responses rather than actually fixing the issue. Such a shame as Quadra was #1!
Edit: within 24 hours of me posting my original 1 star review they offered to compensate me, and I accepted their offer. However, this was still a full week after me asking them for a proper resolution. In all it took more than 2 weeks for the matter to be sorted out. I appreciate they have now sorted out the issue to my satisfaction but it took a lot of pushing from me. Original review: They cut off my domain name instead of renewing it, then when they fixed it took a week off both my renewal and privacy domain, and have refused to compensate me for it. They have admitted there was a system error from their end but just send me barely intelligible emails with a technical explanation and nothing else.
About 1 July 2020 I found that my web site statistics were strange with no traffic on several days even though I knew there had been traffic. I got in touch with Vodien support and, over a number of days they fixed most of the problem. Rather belatedly, on 7 July I also discovered that there had been no downloads of a particular file, and using an FTP program I discovered why: there were no files after late 2019! I presume Vodien had somehow replaced my site with a very old backup, which would also explain the strange statistics. (Perhaps they used archive.org?) I notified Vodien of their blunder, but I have never received a reply. I uploaded the correct files and started the process of moving to another hosting company immediately; the switch was completed on July 10. On 11 July I asked Vodien for a refund of the unused portion of my payment to them (3 years hosting) and the same day I got the following: “we can only offer a Member Credit to your account. Member Credit is an e-money that is shown on your Vodien account. You can use this for product and domain renewals.” Which, of course is impossible. So Vodien is not only incompetent, but also unethical.Update: Vodien has refunded the money due to me.
This is has been a terrible experience with this company, from the moment we were forced to migrate to them. One of the worst hosting experiences I have ever been involved in. Steer clear, they have no idea.**Update** Even when you follow their cancellation guide, they keep charging you, so be careful to remove any trace of payment methods. And of course nothing is refundable. Truly the worst experience with a company I have had in 20 years in IT. Steer clear.
