I really like Waitrose food, but they don't have a branch in my town. I was passing one recently, though, so I popped in buy some croissants and another couple of things for breakfast. So far, they've emailed me twice for my feedback. The second email read: "Not had chance to tell us about your shopping?" Yes, you've already given me a chance, but it's one I was happy to pass up — it's just some croissants...what can go wrong?!
The irony is that a small supermarket premises became vacant in my town recently, and I wrote asking them to open a branch here. They didn't bother to reply...
Long standing clients of Waitrose and JLP generally. Shop at their stores; insurance customers and have their credit cards.
On 12th January we drove into their Harpenden store and or car was materially damaged by an unsecured parking barrier. Full apology from the manager/photos of the damage taken etc.
It was then passed up to head office and we were asked to get two quotes (which we did). Enter stage left their "claims handlers" Keoghs who informed us they will complete their investigations by mid-March.
We are left driving around with a damaged car (including a broken petrol cap) and Waitrose have washed their hands of the process and basically said nothing to do with them now. Extremely disappointed
I love Waitrose. I do a pricing comparison with other supermarkets and imo there’s not a lot of difference. Online shopping is always met with friendly and helpful drivers. All my food is carefully packed without any missing items. Excellent quality.
My issue is with the company advertising perks and incentives…
Little treats ???? Have been promised since before Christmas and not once received.
Please do not mislead the customer with fake advertising .

The service never fails you.
And all the other staff. Thank you, everybody Sheila.
I considered reaching out to the company directly, but after reading the reviews, I felt it would be a waste of my time! I want to express my concerns about the addition of Folic Acid to the Sourdough crumpets. Folic Acid is a synthetic chemical that can negatively impact our health. While Folate is necessary, Folic Acid is harmful. A significant portion of the global population cannot process or convert synthetic Folic Acid into Methyl Folate due to the MTHFR gene mutation. How many other products does the company add Folic Acid to? I understand that this company is not the only one doing this!
I had a disappointing experience trying to place an order through a delivery service from my local grocery store. My order couldn't be processed for payment, which was incredibly frustrating. The issue seemed to be with the delivery service, as neither of the payment methods I tried (credit card options) worked. It was a complete hassle! I won’t be using this delivery service again. Thankfully, I haven’t had any issues ordering groceries directly from the store before.
I experienced disappointing customer service from the company, along with a frustrating response regarding an order that was delayed before the holiday. It was not only delayed but also misplaced… there was no assistance during the festive period, and now they are unresponsive. I’m left in the dark about whether or when the order will be delivered to my Mum. It’s been just over two weeks since I placed the order for a case of wine intended as a Christmas gift… is this the new standard for the company? I am incredibly disappointed. I remain hopeful but still waiting.
I purchased a large tub of cream just a week before Christmas, with a Use By date of December 26th. However, when I opened it on that date, it was completely sour, despite being stored unopened in the fridge. When I reached out to the customer support team, they requested extensive details and photos of the container and lid, which I provided. Two days later, they requested the same information again, and I complied. Today, they asked for the same details for a third time, claiming they couldn't access my previous messages. This seems either like a technology failure or a strategy to frustrate customers into giving up, which I ultimately have done. For a company that claims to be among the top six in the country, this level of service is extremely disappointing!
The slow-cooked shoulder of lamb from the pre-ordered Christmas meal was excellent—tender and flavorful. However, it’s important to note that you’ll need a very deep roasting dish, as it generates over a pint of liquid. I ended up with a mix of fat and juice that I used to create a wonderful gravy. Unfortunately, the sauce provided in the sachet wasn't sufficient for eight servings, even with the two tablespoons of juice suggested in the instructions.
