Our Westgate Towne Center timeshare experience has been nothing but disappointment since 2021. Despite upgrading to a 5-bedroom unit, we've NEVER been able to book it - it's always "unavailable" yet mysteriously appears on Expedia. Instead, we're stuck with poorly maintained units requiring extra cleaning due to debris under furniture. The sales process was pure deception. Salesperson George Caraballo promised maintenance fees wouldn't increase significantly (they have), guaranteed access to Interval Timeshare Exchange benefits (never materialized), and assured us the timeshare wouldn't auto-transfer to our children (it will). When we tried contacting him later, he'd conveniently left the company. Every stay involves relentless harassment from staff pushing "owner satisfaction" meetings that are actually aggressive sales pitches. They call our room and show up at our villa uninvited - completely ruining any relaxation. Management's response? "The salesperson had no authority to make those promises" and dismissive references to contract fine print. Zero accountability for their deceptive practices. This "affordable vacation plan" has been an expensive nightmare of broken promises, substandard accommodations, and constant harassment. Save your money and book directly with hotels instead. Westgate preys on families seeking quality vacation experiences and delivers the opposite. Avoid at all costs!
Westgate misleads people, using manipulative tactics to trap them in a cycle of debt. Their marketing is designed to hide the negative aspects of their product and bury critical information in fine print—details that are nearly impossible to read or fully understand. During the contract signing, they handed me paperwork filled with small print, knowing I had no time to review it, yet expected me to trust their word without question. Don’t trust a word they tell you! This all started in January 2021 in Florida. Upon arriving at our hotel, we were approached by a Westgate rep in the hotel lobby and was offered a "free" 4-day, 3-night vacation to attend a timeshare presentation. He asked me about my occupation and income, and then he immediately scheduled me for the timeshare presentation. He assured me that I would receive the vacation package after the presentation. I returned to Florida in August 2021, with my children. The kids were thrilled, but, I found myself under intense pressure to upgrade my contract. The agent showed us fancy rooms with Jacuzzis and high-end amenities. After a long day of being pressured, I caved and upgraded. After several months of making payments, I received a call from a Westgate agent, who suggested I purchase additional points to use for vacations anywhere in the world! I paid $3,600 for 45,000 points. However, when I tried to use those points for a trip to Dubai, Westgate claimed to know nothing about the points program. When I asked about the equity I had supposedly built up in the property, they told me that timeshares don’t function like physical property and gave me the runaround. Westgate reported me to the credit bureau, and my credit score dropped from 795 to 620. As a result, I am now unable to secure a home for myself and my children, which has severely impacted on our mental health. After researching, I discovered that the entire timeshare system was a scam! Had they been honest, I would never have agreed to any of this. 08
What a disrespectful jerk we just were with my name is Jamie Bailey and this company wasted my time- because I yawned a company times during his boring not to the pint presentation he suddenly got up from his seat and decided I was not attentive enough- canceling our “tour” and wasting our Vegas evening-
Do no attempt to book this hotel. Dated rooms, persistent pungent smell, clogged up toilets, cockroaches in bathroom, poor ventilation, usd50 charge per day for hotel public WIFI, constant breach of privacy with housekeeping barging in without consent and the list goes on. Do not book, you will find several other hotels on the street and surrounding . Positive: the exterior of hotel is aesthetically beautiful but you will soon be in a state of shock once you step into the hotel and discover it gets worse once you step int the room. DO NOT BOOK
We reveived 2 show tickets if we went to a presentation …. 90 minute presentation. We were there for 2.5 hours 9-11:30…..Our rep KEPT CUSSING ….. we never cussed once ……. I’m not sure why or how he felt comfortable doing that. He maybe said the F word 12 times This was absolutely and the people working there the managers were so so rude. I would never stay here considering their employees are so rude and we were lied to and not allowed to leave when EVERYONE ELSE HAD LEFT. Samuel was awful.
My husband and I are writing this review to warn others about the absolutely appalling experience we had with Westgate Resorts in Las Vegas in February 2025. Despite repeatedly telling sales representative Saeed and his manager that we only had $100 to our name and could not afford a timeshare, they subjected us to relentless, high-pressure tactics that made it nearly impossible to leave without signing. We were fed outright lies about this being a "valuable investment" that we could "easily resell or rent out" when the reality is there's virtually no resale market and renting is extremely complex. They deliberately downplayed or completely hid critical costs like high interest rates, maintenance fees, and limited peak season availability, leaving us completely in the dark about the true financial burden. When we tried to cancel just two days after signing, our calls went to voicemail with no response until they demanded payment - meanwhile, we've never been able to access any promised benefits since we couldn't make the $1,000 payment. The four-day cancellation window is a joke designed to trap people, and their emotionally manipulative sales pitch about "dream vacations and family memories" is nothing but a predatory scheme to exploit vulnerable consumers. This company preys on people's financial desperation and uses deceptive, high-pressure tactics that should be illegal - stay far away from Westgate Resorts and save yourself the nightmare we're still dealing with.
0-% rating!!!! I have never used it them never available for me. 6 years I paid lumb sum to my mortgage and it was applied to my very everything but the mortgage then I was charged to collections. Make it make sense. The collection agency asked me to contact Westgate to take my money out of the maintenance or wherever they put them and add them back to my mortgage. Westgate can’t help me with that
We have been owners for 20 years. Not always easy to deal with. Why are my maintenance fees over 1700.00 for odd years, we paid under 1100.00 in 2023. That’s a ridiculous amount. I WOULD NOT recommend Westgate to my worst enemy.
Westgate is horrible and if I could give negative stars on this review, I would. Timeshare companies like them prey on vulnerable individuals, offering false promises and manipulating emotions to secure a sale. My ex-partner and I tried to explain to the representatives that we were uninterested in purchasing a timeshare, but they kept “getting us better deals” to the point where we wasted half a day of our vacation going to this worthless presentation. After several hours of significant pressure, they finally wore us down, and we agreed to sign. Then one of their representatives coached us on what we should say to the loan officer “in order to get approved.” So, looking back on it, it seems they knew that financially, this was not a good investment for us, yet they pressured us to sign it anyway. Don’t sign a timeshare contract with them unless you want to have a financially draining “liability.”
