Routine vet visit. Doncaster

Took my dog for his yearly vaccinations. The vet had a look at his teeth and said they have tartar we are offering a tooth clean for £300 at the moment. Then he tried to put a thermometer up his bum. Really upset my dog. The vet had no compassion. Don't think he liked animals. It's all about upselling. Last time I took him for a rash on his skin. The vet wanted to put him on meds for life which was a fortune. I googled and found correctly that it was an allergic reaction to my Christmas tree. It was an easy cure. All they care about is money. If I'd have trusted him my dog would be on medication for life when he doesn't need to be. Absolutely disgusted with these vets.

Absolutely disgusting

Absolutely disgusting. No compassion. Only interested in money. My dogs health had deteriorated and it was decided she needed to be put to sleep. We entered the vets in Hengrove and was greeted by a young girl who said go to St Francis Suite and a vet will be with you shortly. Before the vet even came and saw us another person came in with the card machine and said before the procedure we need to take the payment. No sympathy or compassion for what was happening. A card was literally thrust at us showing us the price for the caskets etc., then we were asked if we would like a card and paw print and that there would be a further charge for this. Unbelievable, we already had paw prints but how someone could be asking for money and extras at a time that is distressing doesn’t comprehend. We have always used this vet, from the moment it first opened. We have lost three family dogs due to ill health or age. Previously, we have been shown compassion, just asked nicely if we wanted dog cremated and advised they would contact later for payment which was always made. We would the receive the casket with a card and pawprint. A few days later we received the call to say the ashes were ready for collection. When we came to collect we were greeted by a young girl who went to fetch these, thrust the box into my hand and said sorry for your loss without any meaning or compassion. I am appalled by the service received and have already registered my remaining dog at a vet my sister in law used as she received far more compassion at the loss of one of her dogs. I have used this vets since it first opened many years ago but I can assure anyone that the service and care is not what it was, my pets are one of the family, not for money grabbing organisations. They need to have more training on how to handle the situation and review their policies.

Doncaster pet vet

I took my cat in last week due to an abscess on his leg, the vet treated him with antibiotics at a cost of £204 which i thought was steep but expected they told me to pop in the following week so they can check on him to make sure the antibiotics have worked which i thought was nice and professional. What they failed to tell me before going and after they had done the check up which lasted no more than a minute was that the follow up would cost me another £43. I find this a bit of a scam and I'm disgusting that they wait till they have seen your pet before telling you about extra cost

Debbie and the team- outstanding

I have always had a great experience at The Pet Vet. After bad experiences at another local vet, moving across to The Vet Pet was the best decision I've made. Amazing care given to all pets and such a friendly, welcoming experience. Even from as little as booking an appointment over the phone - Debbie's customer service was outstanding and nothing was too much trouble. Receptionists often get forgotten about but I definitely think that Debbie deserved to be mentioned. I ended the phone call with a smile on my face and thankful for the ease of booking appointments for 2 pets. Thank you so much Debbie and the team 💗

The Walthamstow Branch Pet Vet franchise

Took our cat in who is insured. They told us we needed to come up with 1,000 to have a couple of teeth extracted. Gave her gland a squeeze (2 minutes) and some loxicom and we then waited at reception for 10 mins for a cab. At no time did they ask for money. We arrived home and after a week the threatening letters came in saying we owe 41.95 and that if we don't pay it the price will go up with interest. Then despite my partner telling them TWICE we would pay the 41.95 at the end of the month when we are paid they proceeded to send 3 more letters and up'd the price to 46gbp. Warned them that this wasn't necessary and that they needed to apologise to my partner and they ignored it so here we are warning people about our experience with this place. We are now going to a different vets on principal. It was their whole attitude and rudeness which has put us off. Very unprofessional. Very cold. If this review is removed, it will be placed on other review sites including Google and a vid for TikTok too. These people had a chance to put things right and they chose not to apologise and send another letter instead even though we keep telling them we will pay the 41.95 at the end of the month. Now their rating is even lower and poorer than before. Bravo.

Waltham Forest Threatening us with 10% interest addition when waiting for payment

The fact that this practice doesn't have the communication amongst themselves to read emails sent to them informing them of payment information and yet still continually sending generated invoices one after another is to us an adequate reflection of their poor management, so we have decided to take our cat away from this place. I wish we had looked the the low reviews before even joining them. We have found this place (Waltham Forest branch) to be cold and unprofessional with all things pertaining to tact, diplomacy and being valued as a loyal client, It appears to us that one proverbial hand does not know what the other hand is doing and that in my opinion makes a dangerous dynamic when dealing with peoples beloved pets. Good riddance to them.

22nd of January...worst day of our…

22nd of January...worst day of our lives. Our beloved Loki had to be euthanized due to his lymphoma becoming severe and making him suffer. Unimaginable pain we are still going through we never experienced this level of pain...but to make things worse this vet made it worse!!! On the middle of saying him good bye to our baby the staff in the back laughing their heads iff vwey loud, how inconsiderate! They veey wwll new the there are pwople in the next rooms saying their goodbye's and then just to make thing even worse you have option to get fur and paw print in his memory of him before cremation but we wanted only the fur as we had his paw print. Now listen to these irresponsible people. They posted to us the fur (why makes no sense as we had to pick up the ashes anyway or just called us to pick up). Few days after the 22nd I get a leaflet from Royal mail that I have to pay a fee because the sender didn't pay this. Now I am not expecting any parcel so got me wondering what is this. My husband had a feeling it might be from the vet, so I call them and they say yes they posted it and sorry the stamp must fel off but if I pay and is the fur I can get the postage refunded (1.50£) but I am like font care of the money I want my baby s fur. So I payed it two days later should been received but nothing. Called the vet again cause this leaflet had no tracking just a reference that cannot be tracked. They explain that I have to call royal mail and have as is nothing they can do...oh and funny thing they don't put on the letter parcel a return address in case. Like how the he'll you are so irresponsible to deal with such a high sentimental value to an already grieving people with such less care. I ended up paying again for that fee, called royal mail find out they couldn't track that reference either so I walked in and said that the letter is been out since the 4th and after the second time paying the fee should received it on the 6th still nothing. The vets response was after I told to receptionist to tell the vets mamagee they are so irresponsible to make a complaint as if no things won't change. So I am here now complaining but mostly telling u guys don't choose this vet I was never fully happy with then but I am not a complaining person but this is hard and they just made our pain worse. Looks like our babies fur is lost in the mail with no return address and will never get it. Shame on u PETVET this is not they way treating such sensible matter!!!!
