Appalling

Appalling! Steer clear of this insurance company. We submitted a travel claim several weeks ago - it’s been passed from pillar to post internally at their end. No one seems to want to take responsibility for customer claims - have had zero communications from them. I’m surprised Emirates would want to be associated with such a poor outfit.

First Class overseas car rental insurance…

Took out overseas car rental insurance with them. Someone drove into the back of my vehicle whilst I was in Spain. The way AIG claims handled this was BRILLIANT. They made the claim process simple, minimizing any stress, and paid in full within a few weeks.THANK YOU

Don’t waste your money

Booked flights for an international trip through Travelocity for an upcoming trip and paid $120 for “insurance” in case things got bad with COVID or really in case anything came up. Well something did, we found out we were pregnant and they refused to refund us. Even though we had a doctors note that stated I could not fly in my third trimester (which the trip was when I would be 32 weeks pregnant), they said since I didn’t have an unhealthy pregnancy they wouldn’t refund me. Like seriously? What was even the point?

AIG/Expedia travel insurance scam

AIG travel insurance offered through Expedia is a scam and worthless. After purchasing tickets to Italy for December 2021, and after AIG policy was in effect, CDC issued. Level 3 Travel Advisory on not traveling to Italy due to the surge in Co-vid. Italian government imposed new restrictions on travel from US. As a result we had to cancel our trip. Expedia was useless even though they sold the policy. AIG would not honor our claim on unrefundable tickets claiming pandemic began in 2020 before our travel policy was in effect. CDC restrictions were imposed AFTER the insurance was in effect and after we purchased tickets. To them this is not an unexpected event. We are appealing, and if no resolution, I will file in small claims court and let them spend the money to defend.

Carpetbaggers...Avoid

Purchased medical evacuation insurance for a cruise. Then had the cruise cancelled because of Covid. Asked AIG for a refund or at least a voucher to be used on my next cruise. They refused because the cruise was cancelled less than 90 days from the departure date. There was no consideration for how Covid caught the whole world by surprise. Screw the customer and keep the money seems to be their motto. There are many, many, companies that will sell you insurance, there's no need to deal with carpetbaggers like AIG.

Dont get they insurance its a scam THEY dont pay when get injurded

Dont get they insurance its a scam. I purchased they insurance for a travel and suffered major swelling due to a 12 hour wait/delay in airport. I assume flight would get me home in timely manner after a surgery I had and wind up getting stuck in airport and due to the long wait delay I accumulated major swelling that led to other issues stitches I had busting open and all got out of control and I finally went to ER to get help, I was fine until waiting in airport. My claim was $5,000 money I paid after Er visit and it paid with my credit card and was instructed to submit evidence proof of payment in order for claim to be reimbursed, I did all even United Airlines supporting documents and claim was denied. Do Not bother paying for this type coverage its all a scam, they do not pay out if you get injured as claimed when you purchase policy. BBB need to look into this company. Def some sort of pyramid scheme between them and United Airlines.

DO NOT use them

DO NOT use them. The will NOT cover you. They have a lot of fine print about what's covered and what's not. Even during a pandemic if you have to quarantine for being exposed you will LOOSE all your money. Don't bother spending the extra on them. They gave me such a hard time, and my claim was for less than $200. Imagine if it were more. They do not care about their customers. Someone needs to expose them. I am posting complaints every where I can to help someone out.

Purchased flight insurance with AIG big waste of money

Purchased flight insurance. Two weeks after ticket were purchased Delta airlines changed flight from nonstop to multi stop flight making the arrival at destination too late for my meeting. Filed a claim with AIG. It took AIG over two weeks to reply to the claim. AIG stated that the claim was not covered by the policy and it also was not appealable. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON FLIGHT INSURANCE WITH AIG

Waste of money policy.

Waste of money policy.I had a flight policy which basically covers me for nothing even though my flight was cancelled. They wouldn't cover for any additional costs or even refund or move the policy to cover me for the next available flight. Customer service was argumentative. As usual, just another insurance policy that is inflexible and pointless. Cover people for real life eventualities, like a flight being cancelled and a refund on a policy that wasnt required as there was no flight.

Very bad experience

Had my trip insured through AIG. The airline cancelled the flight because of Covid-19. I asked for reimbursement and they stated that this is not covered. Then I asked at least for the money back that I paid for the policy as there is nothing to insure if the trip does not take place. Was told that they cannot do that either. I will never use this company again, they just take your money and won't stand up for anything
