Avoid at any cost, fraudulent cost and debt collector engaged and no response of what the additional

Rented a car from Alamo Switzerland Geneva Airport, paid for everything in full including fuel. Few weeks later I was sent an unsettled invoice without any specific explanation of the extra amount. I questioned this, later raising a ticket as well but no response. My ‘debt’ was passed onto a debt collector who is pressuring me to pay 2x what was owed, despite neither party providing me with any evidence on what this extra invoice relates to. Avoid at any cost!

Disgraceful, Dishonest Company

I booked an Alamo car for a holiday in Punta Cana. After a long day of travelling we arrived at Punta Cana Airport to be told there were no cars available. I called Alamo customer service and was told the same thing. Now I'm having to fight to recover my deposit as Alamo claim I didn't turn up. Fortunately I have phone records and will be taking legal action.

Broken vehicle, never refunded, rubbish

I wish I had seen these reviews before hiring with Alamo recently in USLike others used Alamo.co.uk to book car in Miami and prepaid for a Jeep Wrangler £1150 for 2 weeks Picked up the car and after 4 days and it developed a fault (engine issue)- was told to take back to another depot as I was miles from Miami- they couldn’t replace with the same spec so we ended up squashed into a compact car and promised a refund for the difference- estimated to be £400That was 3 weeks ago and still chasing up refund through several departments and getting nowhere- having seen similar issues here- BE AWARE of this company- I’ve used them in US since the eighties- but now they are rubbish and won’t be using them again Passed the issue over the credit card company to see if they can help with refund

If i could give 0 stars i would. Me and my partner booked a rental car through Alamo for our holiday to Norway. Paid over £500 for the car and paid the £400 deposit. 1 hour before our flight we get an email to say Alamo can no longer provide the car we booked and will be refunding us. We called them to say we still needed a car and could they give us a different car. They said as the refund had been processed therefore they could not provide a replacement. We arrived in Norway with no way of getting to our accommodation. Luckily we were able to source a car through other means. The fun then started with the refund. The original cancellation message said we would receive the refund within 48 hours. That came and went. After contacting them again, they said they hadn't processed the refund until 4 days into our holiday so they lied to us. Now the refund was going to take 5-7 working days. This also came and went. In the end the refund for the rental took 26 days to reach our account.Safe to say i will never be using Alamo again.

NEVER USE - unscrupulous company

If I could give zero stars I would. This company is a total sham and is taking advantage of foreign visitors. Knowing you are visiting from overseas you are their prime target. Critical information relating to road charges is not relayed. The car pickup process is disorganised and there always seems to be a holdup with the vehicle. Which I have since discovered is a deliberate tactic to get you to upgrade or give you an unwashed vehicle that does not clearly show prior damage and upon returning you are charged for existing damage you couldn’t see. It’s revenue stream for the company.

Misleading type of rental car BEWAREERE

It was not explained to me that the car is electric. Not mentioned at briefing. How do I charge this car when I had assumed it was petrol/diesel. I am unable to find the display showing how much range remains.Appalling service from Alamo. How do I formally complain. No guidance from Alamo. Avoid.

Horrible customer service

Horrible customer service whereby I was sent from digital desk to digital desk to get an answer to my question without anybody answering. They also charged me extra for picking up my car a couple of hours early even though they said this would be free of charge.

Outstanding service from Alamo, Bristol airport 😊. Please send me the rental agreement immeditely next time though, thanks. Ben was outstanding when I picked up the car, truly an asset to Alamo! Deanie was incredible when I brought the car back, extremely competent and very helpful in sending me my rental agreement finally. Deanie was incredible, poles apart from Europecar reps!!! Both reps mentioned were incredibly good and both an asset to Alama Bristolairport. Thanks Deanie and Ben, a great company, Alamo! ❤️❤️🍀Truly exceptional service, Deanie and Bin excell in all areas of customer service, truly a credit to Alamo!

Hassle free experience

We were full of trepidation having read some negative reviews about Alamo just prior to our trip. We booked our rental two months before travelling and were greeted by very helpful staff at Stansted Airport Car Rental Village. Both Euan and Dilara could not have been more helpful at each end of the rental, respectively. We arrived in the dark and photographed all around the car for evidentiary purposes if need be (not needed), and the whole experience was hassle free. The rental fee was excellent value.All in all, a good experience.
