Review Time
I can't get compensation for treatment from them. At the end of July 2020, I sent them a claim for dental treatment. The correspondence with them has been going on for two months. There is still no money. In their responses to my emails, they ask for more and more bank account details. They're just playing for time! At the same time, the money for a later request came in three days. I think they just sent my money to another client and don't want to do anything to correct their mistake. Extremely dissatisfied with their service. I hold a policy that includes coverage for Periodontist work. Following work performed by a Periodontist and information submitted to clearly demonstrate that the work was periodontics they rejected the claim stating it was standard dental work. Within Australia we even have the benefit of suppliers assigning codes to healthcare related work. This work fell under code 250 of the Australian Dental Association which is clearly defined as periodontics. A treatment plan stating it was periodontics and detailed notes from my Periodontist were also supplied.Policy number P002527485
This company is very reluctant to honour perfectly legitimate claims. Claims that are backed by providers' letters, receipts and invoices and that are within the terms and conditions of the policy. Furthermore their staff do not adequately respond to emails, the tendency being that you are passed from one clerk to another each time you email them, possibly in the hope that you will give up on your claim. If you try to phone them, and I tried on several occasions only to give up after waiting in the queue for up to an hour, you simply never get through. This is possibly another strategy of theirs to wear claimants down and hope they give up. Shameful for a German company. My policy with Allianz expired and I moved to Cigna. Now my claims are settled within two weeks and without any quibbling.16/3/20 Allianz eventually settled my claim. I believe that the reason why they disputed it was that they did not examine my submission carefully enough. The fact that I was passed around among different staff rather than having one person in charge did not help, nor did the fact that noone answers the phone. If I had been able to discuss the matter in person then the problem would have been resolved much sooner. I therefore increase my rating from 1 to a rather generous 3 stars.
They will only accept you if you are spotless. If you say that you ever had the flu, they will ask you for medical reports from 20 years ago, current checks and analyses, studies of subjacent causes, and will exclude any kind of problem you may ever have in your respiratory ways. Very slow answer time (4 weeks waiting for their assessment of the medical report), demanding and insulting tone, for such an expensive insurance. It is a waste of your time, energy and good mood.
Allianz worldwide care is great. They have a large list of hospitals and consultants all over the world and are quick to approve requests. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because they increased my insurance premium without directly informing me and I had to find out when i sent a request for something else.
