I was with Aetna for over 20 years and always very happy with their service. Then i had to leave them 2 years ago . They had just joined Allianz. Now that my family health coverage is expiring in October, I have been chasing their sales team for over 11 days to set up a new family insurance plan and still haven’t received ONE single call back. If this is how they treat long-term clients, it raises serious concerns about their commitment to customer care. They do not seem to need new clients after all. If this is what has become of AETNA since joining Allianz in Dubai, the experience has seems extremely different and disappointing and if this is how they treat long-term clients, it raises serious concerns about their commitment to customer care. Will need to consider different options unfortunately.
I had to cancel a holiday on health grounds and I found every agent I spoke to was kind a sensitive. There were a number of emails requiring extra information but this was not a problem as I had all my paperwork in order. Their instructions of what was required were clear with every email. I was able to send whatever was requested. The whole process from making the claim to receiving my payment took three weeks. I received my full payment settlement today.
I have in my capacity as a Danish citizen living in Portugal had a relatively pricy private international health insurance with Allianz with a yearly premium of 12,000EUR. My choice of this insurance was in the hope of security and over the years I have paid more than 120,000EUR in premiums. When I last year fell on the tennis court and broke my wrist and later on also was diagnosed with a groin hernia and notified Allianz through CUF (private reputable hospital in Portugal) and Hospital de Luz (also private reputable hospital in Portugal). I got the treatment for the broken wrist in CUF and thought that everything was fine until I more than 6 months after suddenly received two invoices from CUF. When I reacted towards CUF I was told that Allianz had rejected insurance coverage and I realized that neither Allianz or CUF had notified me of this. Furthermore, Allianz without notifying me apparently also rejected the coverage of my surgery re. the groin hernia without notifying me. When I approached Allianz and asked for the specific rejections and the correspondence with the two hospitals they rejected my access to this information under the allegation that my claims were handled as "bulk" and hence involved other patients. After a longer correspondence with a Mr. Rapisarda and Mr Chobanov from Allianz I was finally cut of by a mail on 29/5 2025 where the charming and customer friendly Mr Chobanov informed me the following: Thank you for contacting Allianz Care.We believe that we have replied your query from insurance point of view and we see that you are still dissatisfied with any reply we are sending you. We completely understand your frustration and irritation. As we have already advise you if you remain dissatisfied with our resolution to your complaint, you may now refer your complaint to the French Federation of Insurance Companies.You may contact the French Federation of Insurance Companies via either of the following channels:Via Postal Correspondence:La Médiation de l’AssuranceTSA 50 11075441 Paris Cedex 09FranceVia Online Submission of Your Complaint:Thank you for your cooperation and please accept our apologies for all inconvenience our reply might have caused.Should you have further queries please do not hesitate to contact us via LiveChat (available 24/7) on our MyHealth app and portal or on the number indicated below."I do in my busy life not have time to deal with smaller things and this is also the reason I am not pursuing a claim procedure since I will lose money by the time I am using on this.However, I have decided to take the time to write this announcement in order to warn private people who are looking for security by taking out a descent and good health insurance to protect them against difficult times if hit by especially serious illness. I simply must warn all existing and potential customers of Allianz health care/insurance about Allianz since this is simply not a solution at all.I have now decided to terminate my insurance with Allianz and will never come back.Despite having paid more than 120,000EUR in insurance premiums over the years I am pleased that I discovered Allianz' lack of consciousness and dishonest behavior before I needed their help if serious and really serious illness occured with costfull treatments. Normally I am not sharing my distrust or complaints about shops, restaurants etc. on the internet but I think that Allianz' behavior and lack of support and service in my case is so serious that I simply must warn existing and potential customers of Allianz and tell them that they will have to fight every inch for their right if they file claims under the insurance.In addition I will mention that an Allianz international healthcare insurance for people living in Portugal is an absolutely no go - Apparently some and at least one reputable private hospital in chosen not to co-operate with Allianz any longer.SO MY SINCERE RECOMMENDATION IS THAT YOU SHOULD NOT CHOOSE ALLIANZ AS YOUR PRIVATE HEALTH INSURANCE COMPANY AND IF YOU ALREADY HAVE TAKEN OUT INSURANCE WITH ALLIANZ YOU SHOULD CANCEL YOUR INSURANCE AND MOVE TO ANOTHER RELIABLE INSURANCE COMPANY.I wish every one good luck out there - even Allianz and their unhelpful employees, who in the longer run will get into problems if customers who have taken out a healtcare insurance with Allianz are treated the same way as I have been treated. I’m very disappointed with Allianz. I submitted claim C31374211 for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, a benefit I understood to be covered under my Premium plan. Unfortunately, my claim was declined without a satisfactory explanation, leaving me feeling misled and unsupported in my son's mental health journey.The claims process was frustrating and slow, and I found the communication to be lacking in clarity regarding policy details. Mental health treatment like CB is essential, and it’s disheartening when a provider doesn’t stand by its promised benefits. I paid for 4 premium, mine, my husband and my 2 sons! And they are making it hard for us to use our insurance!I hope Allianz takes steps to improve transparency and customer support, especially for those relying on these important services. Until then, I would advise potential customers to carefully review policy details and be prepared for potential challenges with claims.
I would not recommend for you to get Allianz PNB Life Insurance. But, then you make a try maybe it will work for you. But as far as my experience is concern, I have a bad experience with their services, very unreliable. It's almost 2 months now since I paid my insurance in full, till now I am still waiting for my policy. I don't know where to complain even the hotline is helpless. The hotline will just get the message and send to the concern but no feedback, whatsoever.
I have been treated for depression, anxiety and OCD my whole life. My outpatient history is very very long, many drugs prescribed and counselling.I get Allianz Care through my workplace, our cover is apparently the most comprehensive. The Outpatient Plan states:Prescribed medical aids - $675.Here in the UK my doctor suggested I try the Flow Neuroscience headset. It’s not available on the NHS currently, but the doctor provided me the details for a private purchase.So I thought this would be covered by my insurance… nope. So now im not only very mentally ill but also cannot afford something recommended by my doctor.Do yourself a favour, don’t bother with Allianz health insurance. I can guarantee they will fight you on any claim thats more than say $300. Utter waste of time.
IF POSSIBLE NEVER EVER TAKE A COUPLE POLICY - instead go for individual policies, YOU WILL SAVE AT LEAST 60$ PER MONTH for OVHC - Budget Visitor Cover $500 Excess.If you take standard cover then I think you can save 400$ Per Month.I TOOK COUPLE POLICY FOR MY PARENTS AND WASTED MORE THAN 600$ IN LAST 10 MONTHS.I HOPE THIS POST SAVES OTHERS.
