Review Time
Seems like a good way to learn. I have fallen behind and hold my hands up to that (I started a new HR job alongside my course and it was all too much). Now trying to pick myself back up again and get back on track, there’s no response from anyone I reach out to. The content and assessment are continuously changed updated so although I’d like to go back and attempt the units that I missed, I don’t know if they’re still valid or accepting late submissions. Trying to get Avado’s help with this is like drawing blood from a stone. They go on about how they can support all types of people, but the support for those that may need a little more guidance or time isn’t there
The tutor support provided by my Avado Tutor Mark was fantastic, I felt really supported while he was my tutor, he was responsive throughout, made me feel confident in my abilities and his teaching has really allowed me to apply my learnings to current cases in my HR career. Avado made made some changes to their teaching over the last year since I started my course and I think they're going to make a brilliant positive change.
I have basically been ignored for the past 3 weeks. Initial call with Marc Perkins was good, gave me some good advice on what level to begin at, however since then, he hasn't responded to any emails regarding setting up an account and completing payment. Relieved that I havent paid yet and will be going elsewhere to cpmplete my qualification.
I just completed my CIPD Level 5 in L&D with Avado. I enjoyed the programme overall but was surprised at how much of the learning experience is self-directed. It is a blended programme that is supported by live tutor sessions and drop-in sessions, and you have good access to the tutors as you need it. I will say Lynsey was great, and so were Mark and Britt.There was a lot of administrative change throughout the programme, which did cause disruption for our cohort, and I would say Avado could be better at their communication on this front, but overall, for the price, it was worth it.
I started my studies back in June 2023 and had handed in my last assignment and received my results back by May 2024 (of course need the final sign off by CIPD) however, my whole journey with Avado has been smooth, easy to follow and clear! I think as long as all instructions are read and taken in, it's a very easy process. I got all my assignments in prior to the deadlines and marked before the deadline. I feel my experience wouldn't have been the same if it wasn't for having Britt as my tutor! She's wonderful - super positive, provides lots of engaging (which makes such a difference) information which made the whole process smooth. I've learned a lot! Thank you!
I started my course and then had to defer it for six months due to being pregnant and quite poorly. When I restarted my course, I was extremely anxious, as the workload had felt heavy before and I struggled with learning online. My course tutor was Mark Beacham and he has been the most amazing tutor I have had. He has a way of making you feel like you are in conversation with him, instead of someone at the end of a screen. He is informative and goes above and beyond to support and make time for you. He has been particularly helpful with clear explanations of not just how to do something but why it is important, as well as sharing own life experience over his working life with what things have worked well or not so well from his own experience in a management or people professional world. I would go as far to say, as if he hadn't been my tutor, I'm not sure I would have had the motivation to continue as course, in the midst of pregnancy, then a baby plus another child and then a full time career, in what is a high profile high stress job.
