Review Time
**Store is very much a scam, steer well clear**Ordered end of October, and had a dispatch notice day after.Parcel never attempted for delivery, no reply to emails, Facebook messages and never answer the phone.No reply to anything. Store refuses to engage so have had to instigate a chargeback with the bank. Absolutely a scam and do not order online!
I have never given a review before as I usually have other things I want to do with my time but this purchase was such a bad experience I feel that I must comment. Worst customer experience I have ever had. Total lack of response to any messages sent in any form. Almost a month to deliver items supposedly in stock, when item finally arrives had insufficient postage and it was packaged appallingly. Don't buy online from this vendor is the only advice I can give you. Still not got the excess postage repaid waiting on a case with PayPal.
I'll just state the facts, as impartially as I can, and leave you to make up your own mind:Placed order 28th July & received email confirmation of successful payment via Paypal. All items shown as in stock online.Sent email to query expected dispatch date on 9th August (9 working days since order). No reply.Sent FB Messenger chat on 13th August (12 working days since order). Received reply from Joe via email and FB Messenger on next working day 15th August.Apologised that my original email had been "spam filter". Informed that my order had been inexplicably cancelled, and that I "should" have had an email to tell me "10 min after ordering" on 28th July (I did not). Informed that a refund would now be processed (18 days, 13 working days, after ordering).Items still showing as in stock on webstore online.Sent email back to ask why order had been cancelled. No reply.Refund received on 17th August. (Not sure why the refund only came after I chased the order and not straight away that the order was "cancelled" - no explanation was provided - but it did come promptly then at least).
I don't usually give bad reviews but this company seriously needs to reconsider having a web page.From what I see they are OK at face-to-face sales but out of their depth with web sales.Bought from their web page. The page acknowledged successful transaction as did PayPal. There was no confirmation email, Then no customer support. Your emails go unanswered as other one-star reviews testify. Ended up getting a PP refund. Save yourself the hassle and don't buy from them online.
I discovered battleground gaming at the start of the year and have a regular customer and member of the community there.Joe the owner is very friendly and honest about all aspects of the hobby. He is always busy but always has time to help and chat with customers.I have asked for various items which Joe has managed to get for me. The prices are good and the environment is very welcoming.But that is just the shop… Joe has built a whole gaming community where everybody is welcome. He caters for anything from pokemon to warhammer. Tables can be booked for gaming and painting etc.The players in the community are also awesome, meaning that Battleground gaming UK is not just a top shop but also a amazing place to game and be part of the community. My advice would be to pop in for yourself and check it out 👌
Battleground are brilliant. The website is solid and the store is even better if you get a chance to go down. Never had an issueThe store is stacked to the roof with warhammer, starwars legion, pokemon, yugio, magic, paints, dice, brushes....everything! its nerd heaven and they don't rip you off with prices. Stores ran by an awesome dude and its a propper "ran by gamers for gamers" kind of place
Sending my third email today on the third day of trying to get hold of the company because of a delivery blunder on my part. I wrote an incomplete address for delivery and so the parcel was sent back to the company. I have had zero acknowledgement or response from them on how we would proceed or that it has even been sent back to them. Anything would have been nice.
Outstanding hobby store, the shop is always well stocked with a huge range and if by chance what you want isn't available you can always ask for it to be ordered in.Joe is an absolute gent and always has time for his customers.Ran by a great guy and it's a fantastic place to visit.
