Just pay the big retailer, this is a mess

I ordered a limited edition hardcover book, but the release date came and went without any updates. After contacting the company, they made me wait a week only to say, "that title is backordered and we will get it out to you as soon as possible". There are no more copies available. I still don't have it, and they keep dragging things out. This has been an incredibly frustrating and pointless experience. I regret not just buying from the big retailer.

Frustrating cancellation process

I ordered a book three days ago and quickly realized it was a mistake, so I decided to cancel it. The website stated that cancellations could be made within an hour of ordering. I canceled before receiving any confirmation. The next day, I received an email saying my cancellation couldn't be processed. I replied with a screenshot of the cancellation policy, but again, I received a delayed response stating they would review it. Over 24 hours have passed, and I still haven't heard back. This feels like a scam.

Order never showed up

I'm extremely upset. I ordered a book for my husband as a Christmas gift on November 30th, but a month later, it's still not here. I initially thought it was due to postal delays. When I contacted the company, they explained they were overwhelmed. Eventually, I received an email stating they couldn't send the book and would issue a refund. Not only was the book very expensive, but it was also a special gift. I really don't recommend this company; if you can't fulfill orders, then don't take them.

Dismal return policy

The return policy is terrible. Finding it on the website is challenging, and the return process is frustrating. You have to pay for return shipping, as they don't provide labels and won't refund those costs. If the item is new, they charge a restocking fee. In our case, after considering shipping and the restocking fee, we only received $4 back from a $41 book. I won't be doing business with them again.

Poor service experience

I ordered a book over ten days ago and still haven't received it. I'm unsure if it will ever arrive. The book was supposed to arrive by 12/28/2025. I received one shipping notification indicating a tracking label was created, but the shipping company hasn't received the item. This company seems untrustworthy, and I'm now hoping to get my money back through a credit card dispute. I wouldn't recommend them. I submitted a dispute, and they haven't responded.

Misleading product condition

They advertised a pristine book, but sent me one that was in terrible condition, with writing and drawings throughout. It's unacceptable. Their customer service is nonexistent.

Disappointed with quality

I've purchased hundreds of books online, and I've never encountered a paperback rated as 'excellent' in such poor condition-- with decaying tape, a bent corner, and black marker marks on the interior. I won't be buying from them again.

Not satisfied with my experiences

I've had multiple negative experiences with this company. It's so bad that when I finally receive a correctly described book, I'm shocked. Books labeled as 'very good' arrive covered in stickers and dirt. I've bought library books before, but none were in such poor condition. They need to accurately label the condition of their books. Refunds are either delayed or partial, which is frustrating.

Condition not as described

The used textbook was inexpensive ($7 + shipping) but was in much worse condition than described. The cover had numerous cut marks, the title page was ripped and mostly missing, and it was missing some pages. The binding was loose and poorly repaired. It was listed as 'Good' condition, but I would say it's fair at best. I would have been fine with the purchase at a lower expectation. They need to describe their products accurately to avoid misleading customers.
