Worth submitting a claim, even when others told me to expect the worst.

I read the reviews and seen an equal share of positive and negative so had some apprehension about the likelihood of a successful claim.However, I must compliment the warranty company on the way they handled the situation.They clearly stated that each claim is considered on a case by case basis and the things they cover are not completely set in stone but they will consider vehicle age, mileage and the duration of my ownership (in my case I had owned it 1.5 months and covered under 2000 miles.)Alana was extremely helpful after I had initially been booked in with a garage that seemed a bit useless and didn't even attempt to diagnose the car over a 2 day period. She went above and beyond to find a Mercedes specialist that could see, and diagnose, the car in the near future.The garage were skeptical if a corroded wiring issue (relating to the compressor of my air suspension system) would be covered on the warranty but they submitted their report as required and I was delighted with the approval outcome.All in all I was pleasantly surprised and believe that my experience warranted leaving a positive review in hope that others may have some confidence to follow the process and cross their fingers for a similar outcome.

BE VERY CAREFULL WHEN GETTING A WARRANTY.I bought a car from Optimum vechile sales in York believing the warranty was for 2 years. Optimum has since stop trading so i rang Blackstar to be informed they are only the administrator of any policy so my warranty is void if the dealer stops trading.

I was hesitant due to mixed reviews but my experience with Blackstar Warranties was better than expected. Initially, there were some issues with details being submitted incorrectly, but customer service responded quickly to resolve this. Repairs require pre-approval, which adds extra steps, but reimbursement was prompt after completion. Overall, satisfactory service for the price.

With hindsight shouldn't have bought the car that was under Black Star warranty. Brakes down to the metal within a fortnight

There was an issue with an oil and water leak on a second hand cat I purchased. Blackstar arranged for repairs promptly with a local service centre. Great service from start to finish.

When you book into a garage you…

When you book into a garage you actually need to get a reply from the garage before sending the customer the appointment. You also need to make sure the garage have time to fix the car not just give a report. You also need to make it easier for the garage to give you a report.
