I bought a chocolate selection box for…

I bought a chocolate selection box for 10.00 as a christmas present on the 12th of Decmber, when i got home i saw the best before date was the 25th of December. I went back to the store to exchange it for another on the 13th but was told as it was in date they would not exchange or refund.I was honestly shocked at this policy!! I had not opened it and only wanted it exchaged for one with a better date on.Shocking customer service, shame on you B&M.Thank you for your quick response .. i have already emailed and this was the reply i recievedB&M Stores)15 Dec 2025, 10:51 GMTGood morning Thank you for your email. I'm sorry to read of your concerns with the “Best Before” date on the kinder bueno chocolate selection box you purchased. “Best Before” dates are a guideline to indicate the possibility of a deterioration in the taste of products. They are different from “Use By” dates. Products with a Use By date, such as meat and milk, can deteriorate much more quickly and the Food Standards Agency recommend that once this date has passed the food should not be consumed. At B&M our high footfall and volumes means it is very rare that goods are still on sale after a Best Before date. We certainly aim to remove products from sale if the best before date has passed. There is not however any risk of illness arising from consumption of a product relatively soon after expiration of the Best Before Date. We are sorry however that you had reason to write to us, however as the item was in date when purchased , and is still within the date of the best before, we are unable to help further with your query. Do not buy the festive folklore velvet star. Bought x 2 and when assembling both of the stars came apart and broke. Quality was really bad. Avoid

Helpful and great staff

I run a Air cadet unit and I am running a camp for cadets from across Cumbria and Lancashire this Christmas. I went to the Whitehaven branch and all the staff and management where very helpful and did all they could to help support us. The choice of present for a wide range of cadets was great and I am sure the cadets will enjoy them. It was also good that I could get all the other things I needed to make it a great Christmas Camp
