Porthmadog Store - Self Service Card Only Checkouts

Maybe not all B&M stores are the same but this review relates to the store in Porthmadog. I would frequently visit but after the most recent experience, I won't be visiting no more. I would urgently advise senior management in Head Office pay this store a visit and monitor their staff. I don't think there is issue with head count or being short staffed, but evidently the people who they do employ show less customer service and social skills than a brick wall. I visited store today, two of their three checkouts manned and no less than 5 to 6 people queueing at each of the open checkouts. Not even a thought to open a third checkout, or to direct people to the kiosk to pay for the one or two items they had in their hands, like myself. At this point in time, there was a younger girl and another colleague stood behind the kiosk counter, neither seem to be serving and there were a couple of customers in front of me, one turning around to say they were not open or serving. I said to the girl, are you not serving? I'm only wanting this one item and you're expecting me to go to a checkout and queue behind these who have loads of shopping? At this point, I put the item aside and thought to myself, unbelievable and I walked out. You have a couple of supposedly able bodied staff there and not one between them can think to open the kiosk counter. I have a proposed solution. Lay off those who don't want to work or serve customers, the supposed best of the unemployable and give us card only self-service checkouts. Honestly, the service in this store needs calling out. Truly abysmal. Oh and to add to that, refrigerated stock out is always poor. You'd be lucky to find a sandwich or any suitable lunch time snack.

APPALLING service B&M Stevenson

Went to B&M Stevenson - had never used that store before but was on my way home and knew I wouldn’t make my local branch time-wise. Picked up almost £80 of Christmas decorations - having spent more than £200 this week already. Time was 7.30pm Thursday 11th December as I approached the till laden with items, I noticed that one of the boxes of tree beads I had picked out were damaged and as I had so much stuff in my hands and was next in line to be served I asked a member of staff who was stacking shelves by the till if she could possibly replace them for me so I didn’t hold everyone else up. She stares at my blankly (like I was disturbing her) then says in a rude indignant tone ‘where are they’ 😳 I almost said ITS YOUR JOB TO KNOW WHERE STOCK IS - YOU WORK HERE??? but politely said ‘round the corner in the first Christmas aisle’ she sullenly put her hand out to take the box from me and put out and pissed off… so I said ‘listen just forget it’ and she went back to packing her shelf! I told the cashier and she said ‘yeah we get some staff who will help and others who won’t’ I was like ‘WHAAAT’ 😳One of the items she was ringing through has no code on it so she shouted the same person (dark hair in a penny tail, heavy physique) if she could go find a code. Same response - where are they? 😳When she eventually came back she complained they were ‘all the way over there’ (clearly very annoyed that she had to walk further) and made this very obvious whilst looking at me - THE CUSTOMER ! What is going on? Who is training these people? Why should clients be treated like this !!? I’ll look forward to a response and an apology!!!!!!!!!!! Livid!

⭐️positive store experience

⭐️positive store experience ⭐ Hi I hope this doesn’t get lost in the shuffle but one of your employees was so helpful and kind that I needed to highlight it to the company. Sotera in the Omagh store in Northern Ireland deserves recognition. About 6 weeks ago I asked her to keep an eye out for a Santa sack with an F on it for my daughter to match my other kids Santa sacks. I made it my mission to find one (more so because ienjoy a little challenge) so I went in every few days for those 6 weeks to check the restock. And it never showed up. Today I was there with my daughter who was laying on the floor making faces at herself in the mirror and sotera was laughing with her then said, hey aren’t you the lady that was looking for the F Santa sack? I’ve been trying to call you. I found one and I’ve been keeping it for you. Out she comes from the store with the Santa sack that I had asked her to keep an eye out for and so kindly kept. She absolutely did not have to do this (she’s always busy stacking shelves and tidying when I’m in) she’s got enough to do but it was so so kind and such a joy and surprise and now the collection is complete. Excellent customer service from Sotera in the omagh store.

I received a parking fine for leaving…

I received a parking fine for leaving the car park 16 minutes later then the max stay.Me & my partner spent nearly £300 that day and I wasn't prepared to pay £50 for spending money in the store. I spoke to a lady called clare from customer service who was acting on my behalf to the parking company, explained i was a genuine shopper with receipts to prove so. After she went above and beyond for me they cancelled the charge immediately.
