Went with my mum to have a look at cars for her. We had both been looking to replace our cars after finishing our finance on previous vehicles. Mum was looking at cars, and we had a conversation with Scott who gave us great advice and looked at getting us the best deal for our money. Younger car, better mileage, the works. Felt really looked after. Then he made sure I got the best finance deal. Was in constant contact with me and made sure the deal went as smoothly as possible. Real quality service. I cannot recommend the company and Scott enough for their excellent service.
Caution ⚠️ WARNING.In August, I embarked on a search for a 4x4 vehicle, initially interested in acquiring a BMW X6. However, due to the exorbitant tax charges imposed by predatory lending practices, I opted to explore alternative options. During this process, I encountered the Jaguar F-Pace, which appeared acceptable from an exterior perspective. Another model located at a different dealership was priced at an additional £1,000 and was two years newer; however, I ultimately decided against it due to my dissatisfaction with the design of the front lights and the presence of a private plate on that vehicle.I proceeded to collect my chosen vehicle in haste, as it was late in the evening, and this resulted in insufficient time to conduct a thorough examination of the car. After signing the paperwork, I drove the vehicle a short distance before pulling over to familiarize myself with the satellite navigation system, as I needed assistance in navigating my way home. After approximately thirty minutes of frustration, I abandoned the effort due to a lack of functionality and dwindling phone battery.Fifteen minutes into my journey, the engine management light illuminated. Approaching a traffic light, I applied the brakes, only to discover that the vehicle continued to move forward. I was compelled to pump the brake pedal rapidly before the car eventually came to a stop. I documented this issue with a photograph and sent it to the dealership around 7:15 to 7:30 PM. Shortly thereafter, the vehicle exhibited sluggishness and a series of concerning vibrations. Despite these challenges, I managed to navigate my way home after two and a half hours of driving without the aid of the navigation system.The following day, I contacted Browns Car Company to discuss the problems I encountered. They inquired about the distance from my location to their premises and ultimately determined that it was too far to warrant their direct involvement. As a result, they referred me to what I initially believed was a local garage, but which turned out to be a warranty company. I subsequently arranged for repairs at a Jaguar specialist approximately 10 to 15 miles from my residence.During this assessment, I highlighted several issues, yet the garage identified additional problems that had not been initially disclosed, including low brake pads, split front wiper blades, and a compromised ball joint. This situation raised concerns, particularly since the vehicle had recently undergone an MOT inspection—an alarming indication of negligence.The repair process included the replacement of the timing chain position sensor, although the timing chain itself was not addressed due to the mechanic's lack of authorization to dismantle the engine—an action that would have incurred significant costs, considering I had owned the vehicle for only a few days. The garage indicated that the warranty company required evidence for any claims, necessitating a complete engine strip, which in turn posed the risk of discovering that the timing chain was, in fact, functional. Thus, I find myself in a precarious position with a vehicle valued at £30000 that is unlikely to endure for an additional six months if I continue to operate it under the current conditions.Every mechanic I have consulted has consistently expressed concerns about the timing chain. Many have recommended that I take the vehicle directly to Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) for further evaluation, while others have refused to engage with me regarding potential issues. The last diagnostic assessment indicated a problem with the gearbox, suggesting that the vehicle's condition may have deteriorated further due to my continued use.I would advise any prospective purchasers considering vehicles from this company to proceed with caution. It is evident that they do not adequately inspect their vehicles before sale, passing on defective vehicles to customers who may be left with substantial repair expenses because they wants to get the most Money out of their sales. It is immoral and Crafty. While they do provide a warranty, the coverage is severely limited. Should the ongoing issues with the vehicle remain unresolved, I will insist on returning it to the dealership, as it is their responsibility to ensure thorough inspection and remedial action for any potential problems before sale.
Highly recommend purchasing a vehicle from Browns . The service has exceptional, I was given the space to look around the car and make sure I was happy , Tyler and Scott have been brilliant. Will most definitely be returning for my next car .
I've just bought a yellow astra! The lovely guy I spoke to was really helpful, I live in Yorkshire and he's delivering it and picking up my car as part exchange. I'm very excited and hoping that the bad reviews are untrue! Will update my review when I get my new car! So they delivered it to Yorkshire! Everything was so easy, they looked after me so so well from start to finish. Friendly and professional, would definitely recommend. 11 out of 10.
