Cadent were replacing the gas main in our town. We were kept up to speed with notifications when our road was due to be excavated . Numbers and email addresses supplied for any problems. On the day excavations were to begin, safety barriers were erected and holes dug. The guys were exceedingly polite, The whole area was kept clean and disruption was minimal . All surfaces were made good after , with all grass areas re-seeded . The whole job seemed to go seamlessly, with every worker doing his best to get the job done . We were without gas for a maximum of 2 days of about 5 hours in duration. To top it all, once they had finished , a bar of chocolate and a card were left for us, apologizing for any disruption. TBH I am exceedingly pleased with Cadent. I wish every company cared about customers as much as Cadent does . 5 Star ***** to them.
I have called Cadent to highlight my issue but I want other people to be aware. On Sunday we had Cadent called out to our property by the fire service on our behalf for a potential carbon monoxide leak. I was unfortunately out, and my 38 week pregnant fiance was at home by herself when Cadent arrived. The person was disgusting towards her from the minute he arrived to the minute he left. Above all else, he misreported what work he had done, and why, and simply cut off our gas and left. He left behind no hot plate, or anything else to support us whilst our gas was off, and we later realised that this is common practice. This particular engineer should be ashamed of how he has behaved, and I sincerely do hope that Cadent do what they promised and handle this properly internally, as I would not wish the way he behaved to my fiance on anyone else.
Worst company I've ever dealt with in over 40 years. Blocked a major road in our town for a week (despite engineers only being on site for 1 day) with temporary traffic lights that caused miles of tailbacks in all directions (nearly 2 hours of queuing to get through a road that normally takes seconds to navigate). Not only was it completely unnecessary to block it for that long due to the length of time taken to fix the problem, but even worse they could have completed all works on the side road without ever touching the main road. Rang up to complain, was on hold for over an hour, then they immediately hung up on me. Beginning to suspect the entire company has 3 brain cells to rub together. Tried again, eventually got through, and by their own admission they had completed all works nearly a day before the lights were removed. They tried to blame the council, but then confirmed it was their own Traffic Management department who are so incompetent (and completely careless of the pain they cause to the public) that they are unable to organise 2 of their own teams to coordinate. Even more impressive, they then confirmed that the team due to remove the traffic lights had taken so long to get there, that they were now stuck in the enormous queue that they had caused by not being there when the work had ended. They admitted they had taken thousands of complaints this week as a result of this one tiny problem - that's thousands and thousands of people seriously inconvenienced all because this company has no leadership, no organisation, no intelligent thought and worst all no regard whatsoever for the people that suffer as a result of their incompetence. I'd be thoroughly ashamed to work for this company.
Absolutely awful I am disabled and they stuck cones and blocked my drive after telling them a thousand times in the end we move the cones every timeWe go out in the car. The left a random vehicle with flashing lights which affected me when I was sitting in the dark after suffering mental health issues. Today they knocked the door to say we are closing gas off and when I explained the problems the woman just brushed them off by saying this is there best team my response what is the worse team like then honestly no kindness or compassion
I had to call Cadent Gas out after my supplier showed me a bill for gas, that we actually were not using, as heat not switched on. They gave me an emergency number. Cadent Gas arrived within half an hour. Very polite a courteous young person Guiseppe, did some tests, and did indeed suspect a small gas leak. He capped it. And left me with details of what to do next.Thank you Cadent!.......if not a life saver then definitely a bill saver!!!!
Absolutely shocking, turned my gas off after entering my communal building whilst I was at work, I came home and had no gas. I assumed this would be turned back on after the works outside were completed but after a week still no gas. Called up on a Saturday after having to get their number from national gas emergency phoneline to be told an engineer would be out later. Engineer informs me that meter has to be moved outside and this won't happen until next week, she then gave me a "sorry we missed you" leaflet that should have been left for me when this all started. Now I still have no gas until at least next week and no doubt will have to request my own time off work to be present when they do eventually do it. Absolutely terrible and could have all been avoided had they bothered to leave the contact information leaflet.
Cadent came to replace pipes on our road this week and have been very speedy and professional. The customer service rep who came to advise us of the work was really lovely and reassuring particularly as I have a new born. The men were really kind and gave us heaters for my newborn as the gas was off all day, they were all really lovely and the work has been done very quickly!
