Cadent put our gas meter outside and did an excellent job. Not a speck of dust left in the house and the drive was made good. However, after a while a hole appeared on the drive. I contacted Cadent and in less than 48 hours the repair had been made. Can’t fault the customer services. We’ll done Cadent.
Bunch of lying cowboys. Missed appointments , despite taking time off to meet and arrange access. Selfish workers expect people to wait for them all day long and ‘drop out of the sky’ at short notice after they broke arrangements. When access was allowed they caused a gas leak by moving a pipe, shut my gas off , whereby I had to arrange a private engineer to repair the mess. This cost me £200.00. Their own engineer later attended to check Cadent’s work and told me they should have rectified it! I complained to Cadent using on line form. Contacted next day by a lady offering a load of ‘flannel’ and fobbing me off. I want my £200 reimbursed.
They came to repair a gas leak outside our home and informed me the gas was going off BUT would be back on for evening meal. Of course it wasn't ! I arrived home at 3.00pm. and they had cleared off. No message or note left. I rang customer services twice speaking to 2 different girls who both said the issue would be escalated and someone would call me back. Of course they didn't ! No cooking evening meal. No hot water. What are customer services for I ask? No real help at all. They'll probably just blame it on covid..
My boiler was being serviced when he found a gas leak in an old pipe . He rang it in and within 20 minutes a Cadent operative arrived to assess . Over next couple of days, front garden and path dug up , scaffolding erected. New pipe installed with meters moved to an outside wall . Garden and path made good . Every single person has been amazingly helpful , friendly and polite . All went out of their way to ensure I was kept informed and happy with what they were doing . I honestly can not speak more highly of them .
Firstly, before I get the standard PR reply, I have contacted their email and telephone support line and have spoken to 2 people at Cadent.Cadent have been doing major works outside my house using it as a dumping ground for equipment and dirt on an almost daily basis. Very big industrial machines. It's been ongoing for 3 months and are likely to continue for another 3 months. My concerns are as follows:- There has been zero proactive communication form Cadent about the works. We have had no notifications. Everything I've found out is because I have chased this company.- Work starts much too early. Regularly before 8am and sometimes as early as 6am. Cadent are non-committal about the times they are permitted to work and will not give me a straight answer. The council have told me work before 8am is not acceptable.- There is considerable mess created on my property with flying dust with no offer to help from Cadent in keeping my house dust free. One person in the house is asthmatic.Ultimately the 2 people I have spoken to at Cadent have been polite - but nothing has changed. Work continues to start before 8am. Mess continues to be made that I have to clean up at my time and expense.I'm not very impressed and I'm posting here as a last resort because I've got nowhere through their contact links.
One of their workers nearly ran me over. The incident occurred on Liverpool Road on Friday 5th August around 17:20. I was cycling and stopped to turn right. One of their workers came speeding in their van and nearly rear ended me. He was probably too busy looking at his phone to notice me and he had the audacity to call me a 'pr***' and shouted why I was stopped in the road. I needed to turn right on to the driveway and there were cars coming from the opposite direction. I needed to wait for the cars to pass before I could cross. What does he want me to do? I checked and he was all the way at the traffic lights (400 ft away) before I stopped. I gave him enough time to slow down. If that was a car he would have waited. What a dangerous and ignorant worker.

Cadent Gas began drilling up my road last week. So, the negatives are; I would have appreciated notification of work, and they both cut off my gas & dug up my back garden paving bricks without notifying me first.The positives are that they put the paving bricks back the next day, and that both their engineers & customer service staff are excellent. Polite, courteous and quick to respond to queries. I’m much more frustrated that Lancashire County Council feel no need to inform residents that there will be major and disruptive works for a whole week.
