I called cadent, and explained the problem to a very helpful young lady. She says that a gas pressure of 18 at the meter end is low, and that I should switch off the gas at the meter, which I do while she insists that she stays on the phone to check, and she says Engineer will be round within 2 hours. In fact he comes within an hour. He checks out the Gas regulator, and measures the gas pressure working (hot water running) at meter at 20.5, well within working range, and 2.5 higher than the 18 measured by the British Gas engineer on 23/09. A brilliant visit, and I shall rate them so!!
Utterly appalling service from Cadent Gas Works (as usual). I have just finished writing a complaint to Cadent Head Office as well as Surrey County Council to make sure they are aware what useless workers they have sub-contracted this work to.The Gas Works on Halliford Road have been on-going for far too long. There was NO communication sent out prior to these works commencing, so as residents it was completely sprung on us.The execution of the works have been rubbish and the lazy workers have left the same road closure in place for over 4 weeks just because they are too lazy to move a piece of equipment (an empty trailer). That is currently the only cause for the road closure. The road surface is in perfect condition. If you see Cadent on your road any time soon, I am so sorry, and I wish you the best of luck. They are cowboys.
Utterly horrified by the actions & behavior of Cadent representatives. This company has detrimentally altered the appearance of the road where I live by digging numerous holes in the pavement, many just feet apart! Not only have Cadent ruined the appearance of a once lovely road, their employees have also deliberately damaged the crossover to my property by using a digger to gouge holes in the tarmac for the entire length of the cross over. Furthermore, in an effort to conceal their negligence, they have partially covered the gouges with a tarmac patch - this patch is in addition to the 2 other tarmac patches already created by Cadent. Their negligent actions have transformed the crossover in to a patchwork eyesore! Cadent representatives have displayed completely indifference to the unnecessary damage created and when challenged, their response is - 'You will have to complain to the council.' SHAME ON YOU CADENT..
I called the customer service team the start of August to request the refund as their site manager that visited our residence advised that no work could be carried out anyway without major foundation work being done . (We had to make payment to Cadent before anyone could come out for a site inspection despite us filling in the online form with description of work we required) We received the email with the request for bank details by PDF on 10th August, the bank details were sent over on 12th August and it’s taken 13 days to get this approved then on top another 20 working days to get the refund.I am now spending time and effort chasing Cadent as I called again last week for an update where I had not heard anything further on the matter.Surely something like this is simple to resolve, we paid by BACS so they already had all my details.Their customer service email is ‘we care’ - well it really doesn’t seem like they do. Quite happy to take money but not give it back!
We've recently had Cadent show up to perform work on the gas supply in our street requiring access to everyone's home - yes, during a global pandemic. A nauseatingly twee leaflet was put through detailing how the "team" would be in full PPE, wipe down surfaces etc. however this isn't the case and when confronted rather bullish employees and management have stated it's not required. They've bullied and harassed several concerned neighbours, some elderly, to gain access to their property. To put the top hat on it, the same towering intellects that are doing non-essential work during a global pandemic have since put letters through explaining that they've made some kind of mistake and have to put the work off several weeks. They've been round today (blocking the entire street in the process) to fill in what they've done and obviously the entire thing so far has been an enormous waste of everyone's time and money (taxpayer's money presumably, as this is a government contract. I can only assume they were awarded it because the CEO met a cabinet minister while hanging out on Jeffrey Epstein's island or something).
Dug small hole on grass verge to access gas pipe but successfully managed to damage the entire 10mt length of the verge by driving their mini digger along it and then dumping the earth on the rest of it. Subsequent repair was only to the hole leaving a muddy mess with loose stones (great when the council cut the grass next to the cars) Ironically their email address begins 'we care' You have got to be joking.
Hi Despite of my approved refund by Cadent many weeks ago . They have not refunded funds till date . So disappointed with Cadent ,I do not have full words to explain our disappointment. Absolutely bad staff and poor standard of such public serving company.
