To say I’m disgusted is an understatement

To say I’m disgusted is an understatement. I live in a ground floor flat, our gas pipes and meter got down a few months ago. The front is owned by my self & I have the deeds. Upstairs flat is with out gas, and has been for a few months due to him never answering the door to cadent when they turn up. Upstairs gas meter box has been installed on our wall (our property) kenny I think his name is, put his tools down on our bin, I asked if he is going to be drilling, he said yes I asked if he & his colleague could wait until my 1 year old daughter had woken up, before they start work then I would allow them onto our property, his response was no we haven’t got time to wait we have family’s to go to we have come from Liverpool, I stood my ground with him & this clearly frustrated him, he tried to intimidate my self & my partner. I explained previous to all this I am in the early stages of pregnancy & didn’t need the stress, he said that I was a b**** and I’m the nastiest person he had ever met, I should also listen to my self (why because I asked him to wait to have access to OUR property so he didn’t disturb our daughter) then his colleague Steven grabbed the pair of ladders my partner said please do not step on our property we have asked you to wait, kenny then told Steven to go ahead so my partner stood in front of him, Steven then hit the ladders off my partners head. Then kenny started accusing me & my husband of assaulting them 🤔 kenny clearly stated that he is going to get us kicked out of our home, report me to the council, and go all the way for my husband apparently assaulting him, I can provide 6 witnesses statements . The police was phoned no arrest made. So kenny you have falsely accused myself & my husband of something we didn’t do, I’m sure this is also slander so would you like me to take it all the way? What give your workers the right to try and intimidate & control what they do on other peoples property? When I first asked them if they could wait this is when the problem started. Kenny was the mouthy one, throwing lots of verbal abuse towards my self & my husband. Absolutely disgusted that you have people like this working for you? How would you feel if somebody was coming onto your property to do work that wasn’t authorised by your self? What’s wrong with human decency? And being polite to people and respecting what your being asked to do? Kenny clearly started becoming abusive towards my self as I stood my ground and the more I kept arguing back the more he didn’t like it, and you could see he was getting angrier. Safe to say he left our property after his (supervisor or whoever) said it wasn’t safe for them to do the job due to assault 🤣 with a red face and not knowing where to look, so yes I did laugh at him, but yet no crime number no arrests happened, Steven was the one ( your employee) who hit the ladders of my husbands head. So shall I proceed to press charges and a formal complaint for assault trespass, slander, bullying, intimidation, and breach of the peace? After all as I have said I can provide 6 of us was watching this happen and even neighbours who also stated we was being reasonable, oh & no notice either? You’ve installed a gas box and pipes on private property with out any permission what so ever.

Cant believe the bad reviews

Cant believe the bad reviews. We've had the guys all week working on our street. These guys have worked with good grace. Everyone of them have been exceptionally polite and always had a smile and in not so good weather conditions.Well done guys and thank you all.

Terrible customer service.

Terrible! Cadent have been replacing the gas main in our road, this meant they had to enter properties to renew the mains and complete a gas test. Not once did they ask politley whether it would be okay and arrange a date and time that was convienient. Unfortunatly when they arranged to come to the house one of our family members had been diagnosed with COVID-19. I informed one of the staff on site in the morning as I went to work (I was isolating away from the family in our summer house). My partner rang me during the day and informed me that they knocked on the dorr to speak to someone 4 times, on one occassion one of the workers demanded to see the test result! Having worked in the Building Services industry myself I was absoulutly shocked that this had happened. We were told we would be without gas for 2 weeks, which I said I was okay with as we have an electric shower and electric oven, we also have an electric fireplace in the living room. When the isolation period had ended I spoke to Cadent customer services to arrange getting the job finished I was given a day and time however nobody turned up, nobody rang. When I called them I was informed that it could not be done that day but an engineer would be with me at 8:30 the next day. The engineer knocked on the door at 9:10 and tod me they would be round after 1 to start as there was an old lady who was more prioity than us - we have 2 people in our house who are on the proiriy register. We did not ask for this work to be done, I do understand that mains need to be renewed, however we feel we have been treated poorley and spoken to by Cadent workers as if they have a right to enter our property whenever they feel like! Disgusting! Shame on you.

I am already more than 10 days waiting when these…

I am already more than 10 days waiting when these people will come back and redo my work. Everyday I call them, they promise but still nobody come.. They left me antihuman condition, we can’t go out from house, postmen can’t come in, rubbish bins can’t taken out because all around dig up! We even can’t fill all whole around as they did not finish the Pipe work! Their worker left some part of the pipe in the outside! Today I received another annoying answer from Katie Ward where she wrote me I have to sort out mess, reinstate around but they did not finish the pipe work yet! How I can reinstate around if they still not finish pipe work??

Appalling!! Avoid!

If i could give no stars i would. Cut off whilst on holiday for 11 days. Whilst i had to make numerous phone calls and complaints to even get information. This arose from “routine” gas pipe replacement. Communication was non existent Or very poor. The actual engineers were polite professional however the gas pipe replacement teams were unprofessional, had no respect for property. Was given a £200 “goodwill” gesture which according to form for 11 days without gas doesnt cover the usual compensation. I feel I have been treated like a fool and deliberately treated poorly for complaining which I had every right to do considering there was nothing wrong with My supply before you came. Ended up with a gas meter move, pipe work running up the side of my house. Tarmac which I’ll be amazed if it lasts 1 year. Broken kerb stones On my flower border and my border filled with hardcore that I’m now going to have to dig out to replant my flowers you pulled out. 10 complaints apparently in total from 4 streets. Speaks volumes. Also would not bother speaking to site managers as they are good at doing the talk but will not have courtesy to speak face to face when things go wrong. My advice do not let cadent or Balfour beatty anywhere near your property. They just don’t care.

Am left without hot water and gas for 2 days now. I've got 11 children in the household so you can imagine it's not easy and been spending so much in takeaways all adds up. Still trying to get through to cadent now as am typing this review

Come out within an hour of reporting my problem got on with job and sorted it. A good set of lads with great attitude nothing was to much for them and wanted to help as much as they could

We paid £1060 for a new gas connection in April and were given a date of 14th September for the work to be carried out. On 2nd September we received a phone call from Cadent to inform us that they had JUST been told by our local council that the road outside our property couldn't be closed during school terms as there's a school bus that runs along this road. Would the week starting October 26th be OK instead? My husband explained that as NHS staff we couldn't just change holiday dates that have already been agreed and the job was cancelled and Cadent agreed a full refund. To date we still haven't received that refund and every time we phone them we get told that it will take 20 working days from the time the request for the refund is processed. I am not holding my breath that we will get this refund this side of Christmas. Absolutely appalling customer service!

shameless company, zero accountability

Back In June, the original request was to move a gas meter outside the property I was looking to refurbish. The survey took place but I never received the consent form that the surveyor said he would send me straight away after his review. When I followed up with Cadent (as the surveyor had disappeared), I received a document that was different from what I was told and did not work for the other leaseholders. I then decided to keep the meter inside but move it to the next wall. A second survey was needed but having to chase time and time again to set up an appointment, the second survey was only arranged in September for a fitting in October. The fitting was not as per the agreed work and the gas meter was left on the floor unconnected to any pipes – however, I received an email the same day stating that the work had been completed. More endless calls, 10 days later, someone came to connect the meter but the meter is now fixed to the floor rather than to the wall. The room is being refurbished and the new flooring & skirting boards have not even yet been installed!I paid > £1600 back in June for the gas meter to be moved. We are late October and a simple job is not even done correctly. Cadent has no accountability and zero customer service. Unfortunately for customers like me, they leverage their dominant position, to overcharge but then not even deliver on the work. Be careful.
