slowest contractors and incompetent experts

these must be one of the slowest contractors on the planet. First of all i got one of their reps round saying the work would start to replace our gas pipes end of July 2020 and it would take two weeks and that because we had underlined heath problems we'd come one of the first in the queue. 1st lie. The work to replace the streets pipes actually started in January 2021 and according to their letter 2 weeks. Another lie. its now February even though they have replaced the gas pipes they are even slower to fill in the holes that they have dug. It has taken so far 10 weeks and theres no sign of completion. This seem how their team opperates 1. labourers dig the holes2. people arrive to put up barriers3. the smarter people put the pipe into the existant pipe.4. connect new pipe to the gas meters5. labourers fill in the hole6. tarmacers complete the jobUpdate... These gas experts installed my gas meter outside the property but failed to earth the pipes. Their gas expert noticed this two weeks later then they referred the matter to be completed by the local council. This could possibly have my gas disconnected until the work is done. Shame on you cadent for a botched job

Incompetent providers in a monopoly position

These guys seem to have a monopoly on inspecting and quoting the companies that should be able to offer a competitive . I can only assume they are overworked or trapped into a contract of death because they appear to be either incompetent or apathetic to the poor level of service they provide for developer services. I can only assume the whole commercial gas developer services system is broken.

Excellent service

Excellent service from Cadent when we detected a gas leak outside our house. Arrived within an hour. Kept us informed of the progress and left the area well sign posted. Keep up the good work.

Big thank you to cadent helpline and engineer

Big thank you to cadent helpline and engineer.Me and my wife could smell gas in the house and outside.At 12am while back door was open waiting to cat,we could smell gas.I call emergency no and was connected straight away.i don't remember the lady's name but she was knowledgeable and helpful. An engineer was assigned to us and was with us within 30 minutes. Chris was very professional.He was in his van cleaning his hands first then putting on ppe and started outside checking for gas .Then he entered house and was very polite and checked all appanences .There was no gas leak but gas engineeres were working not far from us which is where the smell was coming from which he knew. If all Customer service was as good as this

I can't rate the engineer highly enough. Adic Sacwar arrived 1.5hrs after we raised the alarm which was arranged by Homeserve. I had damage to the main gas pipe in my garage, which sits under the whole house. This engineer could have just done the minimum and cut us off and walked away, leaving my family without heating for two days in snowy January in a Lockdown. He took the time to assess it properly and fixed in 30mins an excellent example of customer service.

A Cadent Engineer visited my Flat to do live/dead check.

A Cadent Engineer visited my Flat to do a Live/Dead Check on existing (meterless) gas pipe. He said it was dead because the valve was closed in the road. There is a visible gas pipe rising from the pavement in front of my property which is painted and looks in good condituon. I rang the number the Engineer gave me to have the valve turned on but the operator refused to organise this and said I had to pay for a new connection. How can I get this valve turned on as the Engineer advised? J.Lunt

Visit from gas engineers

Cadent doing upgrade on the Debeauvoir estate in East London site manager going door to door no gloves no mask to make appointments he was not socially distancing and there is a lot of elderly people on this estate this guy is a potential hazard as he is not abiding by your covid safety statement which I have just read on your website

Cadent gas engineers AVOID

Cadent gas engineers obviously do not understand customer service or have any listening skills. Two engineers visited my property first one was obnoxious second one didn’t seem to want to get out of his van I had come out of the house for him to grumpily walk over. Cadent so called engineers are not fit for purpose I will be looking to complain to British Gas who they are contracted to, if this is the kind of company British has use I will be looking to ask other Gas suppliers who they use if they do not use Cadent then I’ll move to them.
