This company trades from City Road London, U.K. and has a Union Jack at the top of its .uk website.Sounds British but actually is Mick’s Garage in Ireland. This means it’s shipped from Ireland/?Brexit paperwork and ?surcharge.Definitely not possible to ship in 2-3 days, took 2 weeks and arrived after my due date to go away so had to go to Halfords and buy their roof bars.This for a single use journey.Very disappointed that there is no upfront honesty to allow a better customer choice.
Seems like a scam site. Ordered with express 1-2 day delivery- week later not delivered. Tried contacting the company several times for an order update, with zero response. Luckily I paid through PayPal, I had to raise the case and carracks did not respond to PayPal either so was fully refunded.
I’ve tried to contact these people using their contact form to ask for some info about some roof bars on their site. First attempt was two months ago and the second was two weeks ago. They send a nice email straight away each time saying “We’ve got your message and will get back to you!” Then absolutely nothing. It’s unhelpful, poor business and just plain rude. Sharpen up Car Racks and show some respect for your customers.
I’m disappointed not to have seen these reviews first. Given the website domain and an apparent London address, had expected order by now (ordered 07.11.25). Turns out company operates as Micks Garage / Crean solutions Eire. The delivery can never take the time implied and Royal Mail have notified me of a likely customs charge. The number on the Car racks website doesn’t connect. So I’m waiting far longer and paying more than listed price. I did get a response back wrt delivery with a tracking number but no explanation.This could be seen as a bit deceptive TBH.Don’t have roof bars in time and now will cost me more than elsewhere… assuming they arrive !Updated 18.11.25Roof bars / attachments appear as per order and arrived today. This was 11 days after I ordered as came from Ireland. Although Royal Mail emailed me to warn of a customs charge this appears to have been incorrect .Have uprated from 2* to 3*(Also received a f/u email apologising for delay)
Disappointed experience — currently resolving via card providerI really wanted this to be a positive experience, but unfortunately it hasn’t worked out that way. After placing my order with Carracks.co.uk, I encountered several issues including communication delays and a lack of clarity regarding the status of my order. Despite multiple attempts to resolve things directly, the situation wasn’t able to be sorted to my satisfaction.As I was unable to get the issue resolved through normal channels, I have now been left with no option but to begin a claim through my credit card provider to recover the payment. This is not the outcome I hoped for, and I’m disappointed that it has reached this stage.I believe transparency, timely communication, and clear resolution options are really important in online purchases, and unfortunately my experience didn’t meet those expectations. I hope others may have a smoother process, and I also hope the company can improve these areas moving forward.
They are extremely inefficient with communication and support. I realised I had made a mistake with my order after completing it, within 5 mins I submitted a return request. The next day they STILL sent me order with the postage costing £15, they then 20 mins after that tell me that I can return it. What a piss take, why wouldn't they check any message prior to the delivery, so annoying.
I was really dubious about buying off the shelf roof rails which are supposed to fit. I was extremely happy when the rails arrived in good time, had easy instructions to install and they did actually fit perfectly. (2015 Jaguar XF). Great service, communication and product. Would definitely recommend! Thank you.
