Review Time
I have almost a duplicate review of the previous reviewer. Bought some roofbars to go on our Skoda but needed them for a holiday we were going on. We had a response from Micks Garage (not Carracks.co.uk) to say our delivery was going to be late. I tried to get in touch to find out how late but the email bounced back. The bars eventually arrived late and by that time we were already on our holiday. When we returned home I tried to use the returns form on their website (they state a 30 day returns policy) which said my response had been submitted but I haven’t heard anything and I’ve now tried numerous times. Absolutely rubbish. There’s a post on Money Saving Expert forums where they suggest there’s nothing on companies house for this company. Smacks of a scam. Either way I’d avoid this company at all costs. Now stilling with some unopened roofbars I can’t return.
Good communication and quick delivery and the car rack for our Toyota Rav 4 is perfect for our needs. I only gave 4 stars due to the assembling instructions not being great, but which seems to be the norm these days with anything you buy unfortunately. A full video on how to put the whole thing together would be a good idea I think.
I bought a set of Nordrive riifbars for a 2021 Mercedes A Class A180. The fixing bolts are too large for the mounting points. For these to fit the T bolts need to be ground down very slightly. It is impossible to phone Car Racks, they do not publish an email address and the online form does not work. I contacted them via micksgarage - essentially the same company, received a response a week later simply telling me the bolts do fit. I will not use this cosplay again - there are so many other online companies which offer a better service to customers.
Car rack arrived in good time considering it was routed through Ireland -- another Brexit "benefit"!Arrived in good order. Instructions were not overly difficult to follow. Package was in two parts; a generic bar assembly and a unique foot assembly specific to my car.My only complaint is the bar end-caps are of unsatisfactory quality. Made of plastic, the interference fit is not great; they are easily pulled off when dragging loads off the side.
Placed an order with this company who use a .co.uk website and advertise a London address with a UK number which I have discovered had the area code for Coventry. I've received a message from Royal Mail advising that there are customs charges to pay and now reading online see that this company maybe sending from Rep' Ireland hence the customs charges. This fact is clearly hidden by the company whose emails have no reply addresses, the phone number on the website is out of service and the button on the submit link for problems on their website does not work. Without anyway to contact this company my only option now is to ignore Royal Mail and allow the order to be returned to sender. AVOID this company If you live in the UK.
