If I could give zero stars, I would.I had the same terrible experience as many others at Szczecin Airport. I was unfairly charged for damage to the car that I wasn't even aware of. This company seems to take advantage of customers by failing to take any photos at the time of rental or return, leaving renters without any proof or protection.It feels like they have a standard charge for damages—regardless of how minor or even questionable they are. I plan to challenge this charge and sincerely hope that some kind of accountability comes from it.The head office has been completely unhelpful. The company's representative, Marcin Hyla, has been unreachable by both phone and email—raising serious concerns about the legitimacy and professionalism of the operation.Frankly, this company and its representatives should not be allowed to operate at the airport.
I hired Carwiz vehicle at Wroclaw airport so I can only share my experiences regarding that branch.The rental lasted for two weeks and went very smoothly, no issues.I am very pleased with the service I received and I will definitely use the company again.Thanks Carwiz.
Avoid at all cost if you don't want to stress!! We recently rented a car in Krakow and, unfortunately, did not receive the vehicle we had paid for. The service from start to finish was disappointing. Additionally, we paid extra for a car wash upon return, but when we brought the vehicle back, the staff member handling the inspection displayed a very poor attitude. She insisted on washing the car before beginning her assessment, which took approximately 40 minutes.Throughout the process, communication was inadequate, and we felt the service was highly unprofessional. To make matters worse, we were later charged £400 for a supposed "invisible scratch." As frequent car renters, we have never encountered such an unreasonable situation.It is concerning that the company's website showcases excellent reviews, yet numerous customer experiences elsewhere paint a very different picture. We believe this reflects a pattern of disappointing service and unfair treatment.Avoid! Avoid ! Avoid
Appalling service. Only reason we booked with them was to be able to collect the car in Central Gdansk. We ended up travelling to the airport (with all our luggage, etc…) to collect the car, losing 2 hours and ruining the rest of the day. Upon delivery (less than 48h later), the employee, armed with a ruler and a lot of bad faith, found a minor scratch (“possibly done by someone’s jacket”, “200 eur”) and a chip on the windshield. For us this is wear and tear outside the driver’s control, whereas for the company this is “damage” worth £400. An independent third party will decide as this is being challenged by us. Avoid.
Stay Away – CarWiz is Running a Damage ScamWe rented a car from CarWiz at Warsaw Airport and were shocked to receive a charge of over 400 USD for two tiny scratches—each less than 1 cm—that may have been there before we even got the car. The photos they sent us as “proof” were close-up shots that didn’t even show the license plate or any identifying details to confirm it was the same vehicle. We also have video evidence from the pickup, taken before driving off, showing the vehicle in great condition.We will contest the charge through proper channels. These charges feel completely arbitrary and opportunistic.This feels like a patterned practice - charging customers for minor or questionable damages after the fact, especially when they aren’t present during return inspection. It’s unethical and unacceptable.
Contrary to most other reviews, our experience with Carwiz in Krakow airport was pretty good.We were not pressured into paying for additional insurance or any add ons. The only thing they requested was that the car be cleaned (inside and out) prior to it being returned.My only complaint was that the car itself seemed to have some sort of engine issue and didn't have much power. Probably long overdue for a full service.PRO TIP: Always take pictures of the exterior and interior of the car when you collect it, then email them to yourself so you have date stamped record in case any disputes arise relating to suspected damage.

Avoid this company. I'm looking people who have the same bad experience with that company to put together claim to UOKiK in Poland as they only accept group claim. Car Wiz in Gdank Airport is a pure SCAM. They have charged me for damages on the car that were already there. I have sent them multiple emails with EVIDENCE and pictures/videos that the scratches and chip marks were there on the day of the rental. Pictures and videos had a date, time and location on them. This is even what the rental agent advised me however after the rental I get an email and invoice to say they are charging me 400euros for these damages!!! RIDICULOUS. I have my own third party insurance so I will get the money back but how LOW of them to charge someone for damages that clearly their agents weren't able to spot. Not even going to mention those so called scratches were the tiniest little marks. This company clearly just digs out money at any opportunity they get.
I strongly advise everyone to avoid CarWiz Polska, especially the branch located at the Marriott Hotel at Chopin Airport in Warsaw. I rented a car from them in May 2025 and returned it during office hours. When I arrived to return the vehicle, there was no staff present at the desk, even though it was within their stated opening hours. After calling the phone number provided, I was instructed to simply drop the keys into a box.I inspected the car myself and saw no new damage. Several hours later, I received an email from CarWiz claiming there were scratches on the car, accompanied by low-quality photos that do not clearly show any damage. I was never shown any damage report at the time of return, nor did I sign anything acknowledging any issues. Despite my explanations and dispute, the company withheld my entire deposit of 700 euros from my credit card without my consent or a proper, transparent process.After researching online, I found that many other customers have experienced similar problems with CarWiz Polska – false damage claims, poor communication, and difficulties getting their deposits back. This seems to be a recurring issue and shows a pattern of unfair business practices.If you value your money and peace of mind, do not use CarWiz, especially at the Marriott Chopin Airport location.The only effective way to deal with such unfair practices seems to be reporting the case to the Polish consumer protection authority (UOKiK) or the European Consumer Centre. I strongly recommend anyone who has been treated in a similar way to file a complaint with these institutions.I am extremely disappointed and have reported this case to consumer protection authorities myself.
