This is my first stove. Did lots of research and finally settled on the Aire 5. There's something special about heating your house with fire. The Aire 5 looks great and performs well.My main issue was with the hollow part at the bottom of the door. It gathers so much ash and when you open the door it drops everywhere. However after a very helpful call with Charnwoods support they have rectified the issue with a new replacement part. Incredible service! We live in a 1600 sq foot new build and this stove heats the whole house, very impressive.
We bought the Charnwood Aire 5 on the recommendation of a local installer who has a long standing relationship with Charnwood. We have now had it installed for just over 2 years and it is the best woodburner we have ever had. It lights easily, is simple to control, looks fab and really keeps the place lovely and warm. Everyone who visits comments in how good it looks / how warm it is. I agree with other comments that embers can drop onto the ledge very occasionally but are easily swept away with a normal fire brush and pan. The fire keeps the glass and firebricks clean itself, and a quick whizz over the glass with newspaper and ash prior to lighting keeps it looking like new. We use it every day during the colder months (and in the north of England that's quite a proportion of the year) and have not had to replace any fire bricks or anything else for that matter. Really pleased and would recommend without hesitation.
I bought a Aire 3 stove and had it fitted by a registered installers. It seemed to be burning to hot when the air intake was closed. I contacted Charnwood via email with pictures of the flu mounting to check if it was sealed correctly. I waited for a reply but none was forthcoming. I contacted them by phone two weekend later and was told my email had gone into ‘Junk’ and that they would reply that day. A week later, still no reply so I called them again. For some strange reason there systems were down but the person on the phone took my number and email and said I would definitely be contacted that afternoon. That was a week ago. Customer service is appalling.
Charnwood Air 5. Having had a country 4 for years and loving the stove I decided to go for the aire 5. What a terrible dangerous design. The ash pan is far too shallow the hot embers fall out meaning you can’t close the door without trying to clear them away. There is constantly ash everywhere, my almond stove is now a dirty grey. The ash pan needs emptied after each use to prevent the overspill which means there is not enough of an ash bed to light a fire. I sorely regret my purchase and have gone from loving Charnwood and recommending them to now advising to AVOID!!!!
A very good company. I ordered safety shoes. The parcel arrived with a delay of two days. In the meantime, I managed to send ugly e-mails,I'm afraid it's a scam. immediately received a reply with an apology, and as a promotion, I received an extra gift. I highly recommend 👌,and sorry for my negative emails 🙏
ordered a part in May this year via the web order service on the website. Money taken and order confirmation received via email. No sign of it in June so called the. Phones not answered for ages. eventually got through and they said sorry next week to 10 days. I am still waiting today, in September. no explanation apart from 'we've been really busy' and no notification that the order would be delayed. so i just tried calling again and again huge wait time on the parts line. e. Eventually got through and after holdinhg for another 5 or 6 minutes they got back and said 'sorry yes. just waiting for a bit from the factory and well just send you one out tomorrow. As well as this its £75 quid for a bit of thin mild steel - a crummy ash pan that rots in about a year. this is not even a cast iron or specialist bit just thin welded sheet, very poor company in my experience.
Bought a C-Seven BLU stove through a local dealer/installer in December last year. Recently one fire brick broke in half. I contacted the supplier who told me 'no stove manufacturer will guarantee fire bricks '. So I gave the technical department at Charnwood a call and spoke to Bob. A new fire brick is on its way as a goodwill gesture. Sometimes it pays to speak to the manufacturer. Excellent service....thank you. By the way the stove is great!
