Review Time
Currys has delivered the most chaotic and inconsistent customer service I’ve ever encountered.
I’ve contacted Currys multiple times about a missing item and the refund I’m owed, and every single interaction has given me a different explanation. One agent says the refund was initiated, another says it’s “under investigation”, another tells me to check with my bank, and another claims I’ll receive a gift card. None of these answers match, and none of them resolve anything.
I also emailed their social team at contactsocialcurrys.co.uk several times — not a single reply. Yet the moment you post a negative review here, they respond instantly with a scripted message asking you to email the same address that never replies. That alone says everything about their priorities.
Chats are closed the moment you question the contradictions, and no one takes ownership of the case. It feels like a deliberate loop designed to exhaust customers into giving up. At this point, it’s not even about the money anymore — it’s about the complete lack of accountability, transparency, and basic competence.
UPDATE: Their reply to this review proves my point. They clearly didn’t read anything I wrote. They told me (again) to email the same address I’ve already contacted countless times — the one that never responds. It’s a copy‑and‑paste non‑answer that shows zero awareness of the actual issue.
I will be reporting the handling of this case to Trading Standards, because this is not acceptable customer service by any standard.
We asked for a drawing pad and got recommended and completely wrong product. When we tried to pay cash they couldn’t take the cash so we had to buy a store gift card to make the transaction happen, the gift card wouldn’t work (this was all in store in Basingstoke, not online) so they had to cancel the gift card and register another. Then when we gave the present it was not able to do what was required, totally wrong for the purpose of use that was explained to the assistants in store. We went back to get a refund and were told we can only have a credit note as it was bought with a gift card!!!! So we had to find £300 cash to replace this birthday present asap. What was worse was, we could not spend the gift card money as curry’s admitted they don’t sell anything like a drawing pad. We did eventually spend the gift card on a Xmas present for another family member….but all this hassle has put us off. The staff were lovely, really were, but they got it all so wrong on advice and transaction, why should we have to pay on a card if we have cash? I feel this was a move to ensure that a cash refund could not be given, therefore we would have to spend in store with curry’s only again. Such a shame because all experiences have been good here, until this one
A friend has one of these DriBUDDi compact warm air clothes dryers. Currys website gave all the information you need. We ordered it online which was so simple and click and collected it from the store. Simple.
Shame on you @CurrysIreland! Sent me TWO broken air fryers in a row. The second one has a yellow 'R' sticker — you are selling USED/RETURNED junk as new! This is illegal. Order CIR2620086820. Give me my refund now! #ConsumerRights #CurrysIreland"

Currys asked me to email them with a reference number, which I did. Six days later, there has been no reply at all. No follow-up. No explanation. Nothing.
What is very clear now is that Currys only responds quickly on Trustpilot, publicly, to give the impression that the issue is being handled. As soon as communication moves to email, it is ignored. They seem to believe that posting a short public reply means the problem is solved. It is not.
I have now left five separate 1-star reviews, and I will continue to do so until Currys takes real accountability and properly compensates for the time, stress, and effort this situation has caused. I will not stop pursuing this.
After reading many other 1-star reviews and negative comments, it is shocking how many customers describe almost identical experiences. This is not a rare case — it appears to be a pattern.
I genuinely hope new customers are careful, especially when ordering online or high-value items. If something goes wrong, based on my experience and many others’, you may face long delays, poor communication, and no meaningful responsibility taken.
Currys needs to do far better.
