Major Concerns.

I have just signed up to have solar panels and battery storage installed. I had to pay almost £4000 deposit which I did by bank transfer. I have had no confirmation or receipt and emails to admin are unanswered. I am left with the extra stress of worrying that the money has gone to the wrong account, or I’m the victim of a scam. If it’s not a scam, it would appear to be a very unprofessional company, who care very little about customer service.My next step is to contact Which? Legal Services to find out my legal options.

Shocking communications and service after payment

Company – Deege Solar Ltd – deegesolar.co.ukContract signed – 16th December 2021Install Date – 22nd January 2022Non-working system since - 6th July 2022System Size – 4.4KWLocation – Camborne, CornwallCommunications with Deege were fantastic until I handed over all of the money and since then they have been diabolical. I’ve only ever been rung back twice in the timeframe they said they would and it took 6 calls to get another issue sorted! I was going to post this message on Tuesday but they guaranteed someone would ring yesterday to arrange a date, that never happened!On the 6th July 2022 I heard a ‘pop’ in my loft followed by the whole house’s electrics tripping, my Growatt 6KW inverter had died. Following a number of phone calls I provided the necessary serial number, good job I did as they were going to use the one from one of my batteries! I thought everything had been sorted and then to my disbelief on Saturday 23rd July a Growatt 3KW inverter was delivered. The following Monday I spoke to Deege who blamed it on Growatt, who they said reckoned it’d be a better fit for my system. After a discussion, I agreed to accept a Growatt 5KW inverter (which is what my DNO had approved, god know why they installed a 6KW) and that they had installers in the area the following week and they would tie it all together. Needless to say this never happened and after phone calls every week I’m no closer to having my inverter replaced.As a company they like to blame everything on individuals/resources, so far it was the old compliance managers fault, lack of mounting rails (which is why the install never happened in my area) and this week got told the installation teams are on annual leave.

I contacted Deege Solar about getting a quote for my house

I contacted Deege Solar about getting information & costs to have Solar panels installed. Their response was swift. We booked a house visit for the following week. Alfie arrived exactly when they said he would. They asked a lot of questions as to why we wanted to have Solar panels, how much are we currently paying for electricity, and what would our preference be on the aesthetics of how the panels would look on our roof (they are going on my extension so would be in view when siting in the garden). At the end of the visit, I was informed that I would receive the proposal within a few days. After two days we received the quote, it was all very clear. In addition to the price, they was a detailed design of how the panel would look on my roof, we also were shown a saving forecast (in a little over 4 years it would have paid for itself!). I called them for a few questions which were handled in a professional manner. they didn't try to hard sell to me (unlike the other company I was speaking to!!). I booked them in to come and install it. they gave me a date, a week before they were due to install they contacted me to see if it was still ok to come on the specified date, and that no-one in my household had signs of COVID etc. When Mick, Alfie & Mark arrived (again on the exact date specified). they went about their work. Over the three days they completed the work. They were polite (no swearing or anything). upon completion they gave me a tutorial on how the system works. they also shared information about their YouTube channel for more information about my system. a few weeks passed and I received a call from them asking if I had any issues/questions etc. (which again I thought was nice). Overall the end-2-end experience with Deege Solar was fantastic. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

7.7kW Growatt system installed July 22nd 2022. 20 x solar panels, PV Grid & AC Coupled Inverters, 6.5 kW Battery.Our experience with Deege has been exemplary throughout.During our research, we gained more information and insight into the complexities and practicalities of solar power from the Deege website than anywhere else; it was informative, comprehensive, very well laid out and explained in simple, logical terms, unlike other sources. 10/10.The subsequent proposals, specifications and quotation were produced in a professional and complete manner and issued by Rod same day. Subsequent points of detail were discussed and resolved immediately by phone. 10/10.All staff responded to some delays and setbacks resulting from the chaotic broken economic and commercial environment in an honest and practical manner, and, above all, kept us informed of the many potential constraints and alternatives. They also met their commitments and exceeded our expectations by proactive phone calls. Amy in particular did a great job pulling together all the resourcing and logistical strands during the final stages. 10/10.The roofing team (Ritchie and Dan) arrived on time with all the necessary hardware. In spite of the heat they remained cheerful, friendly and totally competent throughout, managing also to include a very innovative and invisible cabling solution from the panel arrays to the inverter. Very hard and committed workers. 10/10.The electrician, Nick, was consummately professional, and obviously highly skilled and experienced. He likewise exceeded expectations, particularly by locally sourcing additional trunking etc to route and hide cabling that enabled an outcome of great elegance on our garage wall. He stayed (late) until all immediate queries had been resolved, and a promised firmware/software update has just been implemented remotely. 10/10. Congratulations on your excellent teamwork and service.

Overall a good result, and a BIG THANKS to Brittany!

Overall a good result, but took some perseverance to get there (still well worth the effort for what our system delivers!).The Deege Solar sales experience to design the Solar and Battery system we wanted went very smoothly, we all my questions were answered promptly, and this gave us confidence we were choosing the right overall system.When the fitting date arrived, all progressed well with fitting the 22 solar panels (8.47kWh system) with 2 batteries (13 kWh capacity) was up and running in 3 days. (It took a little longer than standard, since we were also fitting the EPS option, to allow off grid operation during any blackouts.)The one follow-up fix with a fixing rail on the roof was dealt with promptly and resolved in a couple days from been reported. Getting the final MCS Certificate fully issued, took much longer than expected, partly due to National Grid requiring our system to be LIMITED DOWN to 3.68 max export at any given moment. (Most systems wouldn't need this limitation in place, but we'd deliberately sized our system much larger to be more self sufficient in winter - and it's really paying for itself now).The one person I'd like to call out for going above and beyond is Brittany (in the back office installations team), who ALWAYS did what she said she'd do, with regular updates along the way. Our system installation all the way through to getting paid for exported electricity had some delays/hurdles, but without Brittany assisting along the way, I might have lost my sanity. THANK YOU Brittany!!

Rod, David and the team have been great, from system design, to install, and the following 12 months support and getting DNO certification. The system runs perfectly, cashing in on the summer sun, and speeding up the ROI. Recommended to friends already.
