Europcar is the worst car rental company, I would recommend to stay far away and I should have come and looked at the reviews before I booked. I booked a vehicle and paid before hand only to be rejected during the pick up, I was then told I was going to be fully refunded only for a few day later finding out I wasn’t fully refund and was withheld £45 that I’m still waiting to get back and it’s already been 10 working days. I would stay far away from this company very unprofessional and can’t keep to their word.
Hired a car in Darlington UK perfect car great service from the staff very helpful, unfortunately at the hotel I was staying i was given a parking ticket by mistake so I was not fined but was charged an admin fee by europcar of 58 pounds even though the ticket europcar got said ZERO balance to pay and that is not proof I was not finded, not happy
I would not rate this company at all and give it 0 stars. I was hit by a tourist driving a hire car from Europcar last week. Their insurance company contacted me to offer repairs and a hire car from Europcar. I accepted and was given two confirmations of delivery of a hire car today. It didn’t appear! I phoned customer services who weren’t really much help. They told me I’d have to contact Edinburgh branch at Salamander Street to ask when I’d get the car. However they didn’t answer the phone and I was redirected to customer service again who weren’t able to tell me when or if I would get a car. So now I’m without transport and am having to spend valuable time and money chasing them up to no avail. I definitely would not pay this company for the hire of a car as they are clearly unreliable, promising cars they can’t or font deliver. Steer clear!!!
BOOKED through Europcar Manchester, a Vauxhall CORSA CAR 5 MONTHS IN ADVANCE.Arrived after a long flight to be told the vehicle booked wasn't available. The only alternative was a choice between 2 Mercedes at a cost of 925 GBP extra( for 5 weeks) to what had been contracted. Very pushy staff Unfortunately I was in a position where I was due in North Wales 2 hours after pick up so wasn't in a position to check elsewhere.The car was returned with no damage and a full tank 5 weeks later.On my return home I received a demand for 925 GBP after I had already paid in full.It has taken over 2 weeks of emails to have the error in my account rectified.Worst service I have ever received at a car hire agency and begs the question are these tactics regularly employed by Europcar.

However, upon returning the car, I was wrongly accused of causing damage that was pre-existing. Once the situation was clarified, no apology was offered, and the local agent was rude throughout the interaction.”
Having booked a car I got a taxi to the office, as I arrived at the office I was called to let me know that “we have no cars”. No offer of a different car or an upgrade, I was left standing outside the office in the rain without any transportation. I was also told that due to cancelling the booking there is no booking reference number.Having received no refund over a week later, I am told that I need a booking reference to get my money back.My money has been stolen and no service provided so now I am left pursuing the company through my bank. Avoid at all costs
Stansted Airport Branch the manager comes to the car with a cigarette in his hand and says that you are smoking 😅 charlatans. you see the pictures taken when taking over, mess and already existing damagesI rented from them for hundreds of days! one of the managers and the one who takes over the car are hand in hand... he tries to intimidate you, to damage you that already existed. the car taken over is dirty. if you don't pay him, I will take pictures after you sign and leave. Attention!!!! If you catch them in the act, I'll jump to the beat!!! run away from here... I'll take your money! I have already sent pictures and make complain to customer Services...it's not first time! And not first person who recive blablabla ...we have right!!!!! You don't see ?stansted branch have all received rewiew with complain? Maybe 2/3 from staff friend is ok!!!
This company is a joke. They STILL haven’t paid me my deposit of £250 back! I will never use them again! You can’t just hold someone’s money ransom when the vehicle has been returned back fine the same day. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. Use another hire company who gives back the deposit the same day!
I took out the full tank option after being told the fuel would be charged @ 10p per litre lower than the national average. The mercedes I hired had a tank size of 43L. The full tank option was £77. This equates to £1.79 per litre for unleaded...I could fill the car up for £1.41 at the BP station next door to the Poole Europcar centre.I phone up customer service to confirm if the car was returned with a full tank, the the full tank option would be refunded. I filled up the car on the day of return (39L with the tank still 1/4 full). The BP petrol station is right next door to Europcar. When I got the invoice, I was still charged £77 for the full tank option and now customer service claims the car was 'NOT' full when I returned it and will not give me a refund.The full tank option was sold to me based on false price promise. They are now lying about the amount of fuel in the car and won't confirm how much was in the car when I returned it.Bunch of jokers
