I had a very unsatisfactory experience with the service. They billed me for 13 liters of fuel, although the dashboard indicated a difference of only about 3 liters. I even provided photographic proof when I returned the vehicle, yet they still sent me an incorrect bill. Additionally, they charged a €30 ‘refueling service’ fee without prior notice and could not give any receipt to support the fuel price of €1.74/liter in the area. This feels unfair and unprofessional. There are far better options for car rentals, so I would strongly advise steering clear of this service.
0 stars. Very disappointing experience with Europcar. They charged me for 13 liters of fuel, even though the actual difference based on the dashboard indicators was clearly no more than 3 liters. I provided photo evidence taken at the moment I returned the car but they still issued an incorrect invoice. On top of that, they added a 30 € “refueling service” fee without clearly informing me in advance and they were unable to provide any receipt to justify the fuel price of 1.74 €/liter in Cádiz, Spain :)))This is unfair and unprofessional. There are many better car rental options available so I strongly recommend avoiding this company.
Hidden coast, not to many options on their cars, and on top of that I got a parking ticket what i paid it few days later online because nobody at the police station where I called was speaking or understanding another language, but europecars keep sanding emails to pay them even if I send the proof of the ticket being paid I will not recommend them to nobody!
We rent a car from Europcar Mallorca, everything was good from experience perspective with car and rental process until we got a parking fine. They said once they receive the fee from government, they will let us know. And we got the fee from Europcar to pay through a website link, we paid the fee + administrative cost and we got reply from Europcar that all payments are done and nothing need to be settle anymore. 1 month later, we received an email with excel line states we still need to pay 40 euro administrative cost to them with IBAN details. They said, they couldnt charge this money from the credit card we gave to them earlier. We asked multiple times invoice for this service but nothing.... Then we got threated by them to be on black list for future both national and international rentals from Europcar and our case will be handled to their attorney. I asked them to send me an invoice then we will pay for it, but nothing... To not complicated, I paid the invoice of 40 euro (yes for 40 Euro, Europcar put us on black list), they still didnt send me an invoice, now I'll file a formal complaint to Spanish customer Authority to inform them that Europcar is charging fee from customers but not creating invoice and not following the Spanish tax law requirements. NEVER again Europcar.
Absolutely hideous experience with Europcar.Firstly being forced to wait for over an hour at the airport (we also have a 1 year old so I was getting quite anxious at the wait) but this was not by any means the worst of it. Realized that the reason why they were taking so long was the up selling of supposedly upgraded cars and then insurance which was the same price as the car itself! I went for a bigger car as we did have a bike box so was happy with that even though I paid an extra 179€ ! Anyway apparently their card machine was down when I tried to pay the 500€ deposit (yes €500 deposit!!) so I couldn't pay it but they took my card details to take the payment at a later date. When such payment gets rejected I phone my bank and they told me it's the fault of Europcar. I send Europcar the email from my bank informing them it's a problem at their endThen I get an email back threatening to report me to the authorities! I then read other reviews about them and it's the same story. Not what you want on holiday. I usually go to the Canaries and use Auto Reisen who are amazing. Will be returning this car to Europcar early and not paying them any further money. Watch out. Do not use.
Avoid! Unfair damage claim and very bad experience at check in. Though I managed to register online for the check in, I had to go thru the complete process at the counter. The two ladies at the check in were not nice, and though I speak English and Spanish, the lady called Alma insisted to speak to me in French. Upon returning the car after three days and only 130 kilometers, the lady at the drop off scrutinized the car like she was working for "NCIS", and found a small scratch of 6 centimeters and charged EURO 140. I complained to Europcar Spain who said that they would not levy the charge. I have been renting from Europcar for the last 20 years. I will definitely avoid next time. Best rental car company in Tenerife is CICAR.
First, even though the car was fully paid through Booking, they gave the vehicle to someone else and charged me an extra €100 for another car.Second, they only handed me the key without checking the condition together. When I got to the parking lot, the car was covered in scratches — including a large one on the front.Third, during the trip, the low-oil warning kept turning on and off. I called to report it, but they told me not to worry and gave no instructions. Finally, when I returned the car, they tried to charge me €250 for a tiny scratch that was already there. This company is abusive and dishonest. I’ve rented cars in many places for travel, and this was by far the worst experience. It’s disappointing that Booking still works with Europcar. Next time, I’ll make sure to check which company is behind the reservation — because Europcar cannot be trust
Mistake #1 booked Eurocar. The car was ok, reasonably priced, but all scratched and dinged up… over a dozen different areas… They require you to do your own inspection and to call to ensure that they have catalogued all the issues. So, I took a video of the whole car. When we returned it, the inspector made a bee line for a spot that can only be seen from about 6 inches from the ground, my video was blurry and didn’t clearly capture this spot, the guy says sign here, I say ‘no, it says “one new damage”, I don’t agree’… he leads me to believe that if I sign they will fix everything and the office, just show them the video (mistake#2 I signed). The office guy says that charging customers for dings is a revenue stream for them… at least he was honest… DONT USE EUROCAR.
We gave back a seat panda in Sevilla with full deposit and they mentioned that our car is missing almost half of it, 5/8 to charge 20 euros extra. As we gave the keys at night, we could not have a word with them about it. Avoid this company if possible. Very bad experience
When we collected the car the counter agent indicated we need to check the car carefully as they don't accept post collection videos or picturesThe person at vehicle collection was visibly irritated and annoyed that we wanted to check the car carefullyShe was rushing, ineffective and wanting to get back to whatever she was doing In her rush she was also indicating if there is one damage on a body part there is no need to check for othersOn returning the car the super diligent and friendly drop off checker indicated there was a less than 5 cm scratch under the car front fender But as there were other preexisting scratches there should be no charge but we needed to pass by the terminal office to close off the contract.Herr the lady took a long time and only to inform us that we needed to pay €194 !!!Other than being delayed for our flight It seems they're running some type of scam for people who don't take out extra insurance coverThis doesn't happen at other companies or other Europcar officesDONT TRUST Europcar T4 Barajas
