I rented 2 units from 2023 to 2026 my experience was nothing more than a nightmare. I thought my belongings were safe during my family housing transitions. All of furniture was damaged every box or tote was opened and just about everything of value was stolen from us broken or completely ruined . I was never told there was a door access in the back of my unit that needed a key. I found out an employee had a key to my unit so it was an inside job of burglary. I found my washer and dryer outside my unit and all of our Christmas gifts stolen. The staff didn't notify me of the theft i just happened to go to it. I confronted the staff and got nothing. The insurance company will not respond. My units were broken into several times. My mom had a unit we found her belongings in the back of storage and the unit was open. It took so long for them to repair and close her unit. They only offered reimburstment for 1 month rent.

I looked on location at the unit that I was interested in. The site was appealing. The online price was attractive. I began applying. Then, wala, a $29 adiminstration fee. What??? Amazing! What a way to gouge people.

AVOID THE MANAGER AT THIS STORAGE FACILITY

I strongly recommend checking other review platforms regarding the manager at this storage facility. My experience since January 2022 has been dreadful, as the manager has treated me with disdain and disrespect. I disagree with the recent rent increase from $99 to $364, which seems unjustified, especially considering that the online price for a similar unit is only $181. The manager has consistently singled me out for harsh treatment, while allowing other renters to load and unload without issue. Despite repeated rent increases, I see no valid reason for these hikes, particularly as I was wearing a dress on several occasions when they occurred. Additionally, past complaints about temperature issues in my unit have been ignored. The service has been frustrating and unprofessional, leaving me feeling humiliated and undervalued. It's time for a change in management practices at this facility.

This company is not good at all! My storage unit was broken into on a Tuesday the manager and or anyone failed to call me to advise me about it, it took my coming in on a Saturday of the same week to discover the break in and theft. The manager failed to do a walk through of the facility breaking protocol to look for any other units affected by the break in and call the customers renting said units. For 4 days my unit was left compromised without any contacting me. The manager also lied and stated ge called me when I told him I had no record of his lie he then stated I was on the list of people to call, it diesnt take 4 full days to contact a customer about a theft. He even failed to tell me as he took me up the elevator to my unit that same Saturday i discovered the break in knowing my floor was affected. Even after the fact he failed to file a report and or take pictures of my unit as he should have as a manager. Today's the 7th of December, I have yet to receive a call from anybody at extra space storage regarding the break in at all, not 1 call since November 18....this is unprofessional and negligence and I will have to perspective this court if extra space fails to address the negligence and break ins at this facility. No customer service at all. How am I paying for a unit that gets broken into robbed and ransacked and not 1 person from management can give me a call to address it. The insurance company adjuster is on a 3 day vacation and no help from anyone

They rather say NO then find a way to say yes regardless of profit for the company.

I did business with them for 5 years perfectly fine. It went it to new management and now its is pure garbage. This company is public. Do not invest in this company. First of all they charge you $30 when you sign up for a $7 lock that you may not even need. After 4 months they will raise your rent. Mine went up $80 more per month. After 9 months they will raise it again. Everything you ask is basically a " no". They don't want customers. And they do everything to keep the units vacant. Basically management is a wreck. Time and time again people are stuck inside the gate because they refuse to put a sign for customer to pull up to the gate for it to open automatically. Keep in mind they had a keypad for the last 10 years where they removed the keypad and didn't notify how to get out now that the keypad was removed. They all of a sudden don't allow trucks over 30 feet forgetting the fact that Ive been doing 40 foots for over 7 years. When issues would arise customers can request to see the camera footage. That was no problem. But now all of a sudden they can't show you the camera footage. So what is the cameras there for? Can't give a reason for why they can't show footage if anything mischievous happened on the property. Basically, everything is a NO. The worst part is they raise your rent when they show the same exact unit for $200 less online. They know all your stuff is already loaded and take advantage of you. Worst ran company. If you are an investor I would stay away.

Price more than doubled after 3 months. They say that my promotional rate is expiring but never before have they mentioned I was on a promotional rate. Their business model is very clear. Get customers to move their furniture in and then start increasing prices.

SEE YELP, TRUSTPILOT ABOUT KIM, THE NIGHTMARE MANAGER AT EXTRA SPACE STORAGE LOCATED AT 3300 CALL CUERVO NW, ALBUQUERQUE, NM 87114 - AND THE SCORNFUL, DISRESPECTFUL, INHUMANE WAY KIM HAS HANDLED THINGS WITH ME SINCE JANUARY, 2022 BY NEVER ALLOWING ANY DIGNITY AS A HUMAN BEING/PAYING CUSTOMER SINCE THE DAY I STARTED RENTING A 15x15 in JANUARY 2022 FOR $169..00. I TOTALLY DISAGREE WITH KIM RAISING MY RENT $99 TO $364 JUST BECAUSE I WAS WEARING A DRESS, AND WITH TO DISPUTE THE INCREASE AND WISH TO HAVE RENT RESTORED TO A PREVIOUS AMOUNT. ON DEC 6, 2025, THE PRICE ONLINE FOR 15x 15 UNIT HAS ONLY GONE UP TO $181.00. THIS IS NOT BECAUSE OF KIM, WHO IS A SWINDLER. I tried online and found they want to charge me for a lock I already had and I didn’t need any insurance as I already had insurance. I had called several times and never got anyone so I went to one of their locations and tried again to find someone to help. I left that day without a storage unit. I called again the next day and got a woman who said I needed to be there in person to complete the application. So I went to the facility on Manning Rd in Enfield CT. No one was there. I walked the entire facility. I did find a very unhappy man there who also was having a difficult time finding the manager. So I went to their facility on South st in Enfield CT and dealt with a woman who said the price changed and was now triple what I was quoted. This is not a place I would trust to take care of my belongings. No sir. Not trust worthy, not professional, and difficult to get hold of at the facility and on the phone. They did me a favor in the long run as I don’t need any more frustration trying to work with them

Extra Space Storage in Conway

Extra Space Storage in Conway, SC has been a great experience. I have been storing my travel trailer in one of the parking spaces for several years at the Conway, SC on 501 location and have no complaints or issues. The staff has been extremely helpful every step of the way. I would stay much much longer, except I have chosen to move my camper closer to where I live.
