Still Waiting for My Refund After Over 3 Months – Terrible Customer Support

Three months ago, I purchased three tickets from Barcelona to Santiago, Chile through the website for around $5,500 USD. After completing the payment, the site redirected me to an error page. Thinking the transaction hadn’t gone through, I tried again, and that time it worked. Later that day, I discovered they had charged me twice, totaling $11,000 USD, and created two reservations under my name for the same flights. I called immediately. They acknowledged their mistake, deleted one of the bookings, and promised a refund within 30 working days. It’s now been over three months, and I’m still waiting. During this time, I’ve had to pay my credit card bill and contact them almost every week for follow-ups—with no clear answers or resolution. This experience has been extremely stressful and disappointing. How can an airline take thousands of dollars in error and not return it? What are my rights as a customer in this situation, and where can I turn for help?

When Low-Cost Becomes Low Comfort

I understand that this is a low-cost airline — I paid for my extras and was fine with that. But on a daytime flight from Barcelona to Buenos Aires, the crew decided we would all live in darkness for 12 hours by keeping the window blinds closed after breakfast. The cabin felt like a prison, and the crew were rarely seen during the entire flight. Low-cost doesn’t mean you should treat passengers like prisoners. Definitely not a flight I’ll ever forget… and certainly not in a positive way.

Flight Not Operated by Them

The flight from Barcelona to JFK is not operated by them but by a cheaper Caribbean company. This is a less reputable company with poor customer service and less legroom space (8cm less). They notify you only 2 days before the flight, not at the time of booking. This service doesn't provide the minimum food or water that the other airline offers, and they leave it on the trays without serving. Bad experience. This service is getting worse.

This Website is a Scam

This website is a scam. Do not book. I booked flights, paid in full, but the airline didn't confirm the booking. The cancel/refund page constantly errors out. Customer service is unresponsive.

Avoid This Airline at All Costs

Avoid this airline at all costs! This was the worst experience I’ve ever had. I paid over €500 for my ticket, and because I missed a checkbox for food during the check-in process, I was not entitled to my free meal. When I asked the staff onboard, they wanted to charge €20 for a meal I had already paid for! They try to cut costs at every opportunity. Very little legroom and rundown planes. Seriously, do not fly with this service; I never will again. It’s not worth any potential savings you might think it offers.

Worst experience

I would love to give them zero star instead of one. I booked our trip to Algeria with level this summer and we had layover in Barcelona. First the tickets were not cheap comparing to other companies. The seats on the airplane were very tight. Everything on the plane were for sale from the food to the earbuds, nothing is free.On our way back to Boston from Algiers we had to pay for our luggage which we were expecting but the surprise was on the price. It was three times more than any other company we used before. We had no choice and we paid for three suitcases . The biggest surprise was waiting for us at Logan airport in Boston. Our luggage didn’t arrive. We filled a claim and we kept going back and forth to the airport for three days. And finally our baggage arrived but a lot of things were ruined and some food went bad. I tried to contact the customer service for Level but instead of helping me they were scapegoating with Iberia since Iberia is the operating carrier. Anyway that was my first and last time traveling with them and I would never recommend them to anyone.

Go Level if you want low level

You book with Iberia thinking that for the expensive price you are paying for, you will fly with an airline of the same quality as Iberia. Instead, you get scammed flying with a low cost where you need to pay for blankets, headphones and need to book in advance your meal because otherwise you don’t know what you will get (if anything). Seats extremely uncomfortable, without a pillow nor anything for an intercontinental flight. Most importantly, everything was broken and fixed with tape (e.g. the TV of my seats, sink not working, another sink not flushing down the water,…)Staff disappeared during the entire 14h flight and extremely young, probably at their very first experience. What makes you mad is that you are not paying a low price, not at all, rather, you are paying the same as if you were to fly with Iberia.Real scam, for sure we wouldn’t have booked it if we knew it

Go LEVEL if you want LOW LEVEL

The slogan “Go LEVEL if you want Low Level”. The flight from Barcelona to Buenos-Aires for the price as Iberia, but the quality of the aircraft was SO poor, it’s ridiculous. Never again!!!!!

Absolutely Inhumane and Incompetent Customer Service

We’ve been dealing with LEVEL Airlines for months trying to get a refund for a flight that had to be cancelled due to a serious medical emergency. My partner’s mother was hospitalized and we immediately sent all the necessary medical documentation to support the claim. Despite this, LEVEL has done absolutely nothing to process the refund.Every time we call, they tell us they never received the documents—even though we’ve sent them multiple times. They keep promising to send an email so we can re-upload the files, but those emails never arrive. We've followed up again and again, but get sent in useless loops with no resolution and no accountability. This is not just bad service—it is shameful, disrespectful, and borderline fraudulent behavior. You do not treat people going through medical crises like this. LEVEL’s complete lack of empathy, efficiency, or even basic communication is infuriating. Avoid this airline at all costs. They will happily take your money and then vanish when something goes wrong.

We were on a cruise and they canceled…

We were on a cruise and they canceled our flight on the last day. It ruined the day because we scrambled all day looking for another flight. The flight we booked that was cancelled was still showing available but they wanted $425 more a person! American Airlines was an affiliate but had no control. We were suppose to fly directly from Barcelona to Miami. American finally got us a flight the same day BUT! We flew from Barcelona to Madrid to JFK to Miami! We were up for 24 hours. Please stay away from these airlines. Stick with American Airlines! There were other people on our cruise who actually paid $1500 more to get the flight back. The airplane stunk and the staff was not professional at all. Horrible!😢
