I ordered a PA system from Gear4Music and when I tried to pay, the payment didn’t go through. The next day I tried again and it did work. A week later I received the PA system and the following day another one. Long story short, Gear4Music erroneously sent two systems. With the PA costing 460chf and being an honest person, I called up their customer service team to explain. They had no idea and asked me to return it. They arranged dhl but I had to change my plans to match the schedule and re-package some boxes which were damaged during the original shipment. For my troubles they said in the future they would offer me a discount.Fast forward three months and I email about a mixer I am interested in costing 237chf. They offer me 40chf off but still have to pay the postage. I explained to them that I did them a favour informing them and returning the second PA, which of course I could have easily kept or returned one based on the actual order and they would be none the wiser. They said they have small profit margins and can’t make a better gesture. It’s insulting how they treat customers, especially when you help them out massively with a mistake on their end that they had no idea about. Shameful and don’t use them.*Update - 21.01.2022*Following the request from Gear4Music to get in touch, I forwarded all the correspondence and reference to their contact on this review. No response for two weeks. I wrote again and eventually got a reply which ignored all of what I had written and confirmed I have a 40chf reduction. So it would seem that despite what Gear4Music publicly say about it not being standard practice is simply not true. You won’t be valued as a customer here so don’t give them your coin. I have used Thomann for many other purchases and they are in a different league. Better prices, products and don’t customers treat you like this.
Superb customer service,I must say I've been in contact with Gear4music's customer service quite a few times for a number of issues and they've always been very responsive. I had problem with the first pair of headphones I bought then I requested a change, then eventually after a year I noticed a defect of the earpads. I requested new pads but the supplier took forever to answer so I went ahead and bought some 3rd party spares. When the supplier eventually came back to them saying they were unable to deliver they contacted me offering to cover the costs for the ones I bought on my initiative.100% satisfied
If you order from this webshop be aware that the listed availability of the product may not be accurate. My order kept being delayed despite the website saying the product was in stock. That probably has something to do with inventory management across multiple countries, which I'm sure is a challenge, but the lack of communication and accurate information was a bit frustrating.I ended up cancelling my order. It took multiple emails over the course of about a month to get my money back. I recommend using a creditcard or other payment method where you don't have to rely on their customerservice to get your money back if it comes to that. I got my money back eventually, but man, it took some doing.
