Once a great credit union, now a disappointing experience.

This institution used to be a reliable credit union, but it has expanded significantly, building numerous new locations to attract customers. Unfortunately, in doing so, they have compromised their values and heavily invested in the lobby. The leadership has drastically increased funding for lobbying efforts, seemingly to benefit their own interests. It's disheartening, especially considering the credit union was established to provide an alternative to traditional banks. Additionally, this once family-oriented credit union is not ADA compliant; each branch only has a drive-up ATM, leaving those with mobility issues without access. Their ATMs are particularly challenging for individuals with conditions like Parkinson's or essential tremors. I've also noticed their treatment of individuals with special needs is concerning. I recommend that all customers inquire about how much is being funneled into political campaign funds through the current leadership's lobbying efforts.

Disappointing Loyalty Experience

After three decades as a customer, my recent experiences have been disappointing and filled with unethical behavior. Two years ago, they closed my account unlawfully just before my pension deposit, despite it being a routine process. The reasons given were irrelevant. I contacted regulatory authorities, leading them to reopen my account, but it felt like they were doing me a favor, especially with my social security at stake. This has led to severe issues for me, and I'm left handling the consequences of their incompetence. I appreciate the support from another financial service during this difficult time. At 71, with health issues, the stress they've caused is unacceptable. I've taken legal action against them, which shows how they treat loyal customers.

Nightmare Application Process

The application process quickly became a nightmare. They should have asked for my maiden name or any previous names at the start, but instead, my Social Security number was suddenly deemed invalid due to my name change. I provided a photocopy of my SSN, but they questioned its validity. They then requested my birth certificate or passport, which should have been asked for at the beginning. Now, I'm looking at other financial institutions because this has turned into a frustrating ordeal.

No Stars Deserved

They don't deserve any stars at all. Investing or being a customer here is not worth it. My overall experience has been nothing short of horrific. The excuses provided have been poor and the lack of accountability is appalling. They closed my account without explanation, undermining my 30 years of loyalty. It feels like a slap in the face after all the time and effort I've dedicated to them. I had to borrow money from family to manage basic needs, which speaks volumes about their disregard for customer welfare. I'm 70 and dealing with serious anxiety and health issues, and the undue stress they've caused is inexcusable. Apologies mean nothing when they were forced to reopen my account.

A Cautionary Tale

BEWARE of this financial institution. I opened a high-yield savings account weeks ago and have regretted it since. After depositing a significant amount for a promotional offer, it vanished as soon as my account was active. The real trouble began when accessing my funds proved nearly impossible. Their website is ineffective, and I had to endure long holds just to obtain my account number. When I finally got through, they refused to share it, insisting I wait for a welcome letter. I needed access immediately. Even after linking to another bank, they blocked my transfers, effectively trapping my money. Their methods are not just inconvenient; they feel deliberately obstructive. I've never encountered such behavior with other institutions. Customer service seems to be a low priority. After closing my account, I received a call offering the original CD deal, which was no longer available. It's too little, too late.

Mobile App Issues

The mobile app leaves much to be desired; it’s challenging to navigate and make payments from accounts outside the service. Occasionally, they lose my biometric login data, forcing me to recover a password I haven't used in months. Why can't I just answer my security questions? A simple revamp inspired by other banking apps would make a world of difference.

Disputed Cancellation of Insurance

They are claiming I canceled my gap insurance policy, which I did not. They say they refunded me and adjusted my monthly payment, but my payment has remained unchanged. I've asked for weeks for proof of my cancellation, but multiple agents have said they can't find it. Now they claim to have found forms that I never signed. This situation is unacceptable, and I will be pursuing legal action.
