Criminal at best

General Motors truly doesn't stand by their products or customers, and likes to define their own terms after the fact to justify not having to reimburse customers.... but they don't inform you about it until after the time frame (which is subject to change on their choosing) WHAT A BUNCH OF GARBAGE 100K on a truck but go f yourself if it breaks down... they keep it for over a month while youre stranded on a trip and string you along spoon feeding you scripted bs and end up forcing you to spend thousands out of your own pocket.

My engine blew up after 123,000km

My engine blew up after 123,000 km and regular maintenance. They admitted to knowing their engines blow up and will do absolutely nothing to rectify the situation because of policies designed to screw over the consumer. DO NOT buy a GMC unless you want your engine to blow up prematurely. You should be recalling your product instead of robbing your customers.

2 months later and my truck still sits…

2 months later and my truck still sits idle at GMC Basil in Orchard Park. I thought calling GM corporate would move the process along but they’re just as bad. Rep stated she was going to escalate my case…. Now doesn’t return calls. First and last GMC purchase. Customer service is absolutely disgusting!

I leased a 2025 GMC Hummer in November…

I leased a 2025 GMC Hummer in November of 2024. In early January I had to take vehicle to dealer with a battery issue. While the vehicle was in for repairs it was stolen from the GMC dealership. The vehicle was recovered however there was $22,000 worth of damage done to the vehicle. The dealer's insurance did cover the repairs however did not cover the contents inside the vehicle. Due to not having parts for repair the vehicle was at the dealership for more than 6 months. I called customer service numerous times to discuss options for them to take the vehicle back and I would purchase a new vehicle. I had only had the vehicle for less than 90 days and due to it being stolen while in their possession I thought it would be fair for them to take it back. I was not asking for anything free nor was I asking for anything that I did not think was fair. Customer service continuously gave me the run around and said the case was under review and they would call me back. They would never call. I would have to call them to repeatedly get the same answer. The case is still pending. After I received the vehicle back, they said the case is closed I have the vehicle now. I have only purchased GMC vehicles for my family, and I based on other family working for GMC. I however would not recommend, nor will I purchase another GMC based on this experience.

Worst vehicle experience.

Owning a GM vehicle has been the worst vehicle experience of my life. I purchased a brand new 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 in July of 2023 because GMC was supposed to be best of the best. Within 7 months of owning the vehicle, all of the cameras stopped working. I got them repaired under warranty only to have them fail again and again. I found out I could remove the camera fuse and reinsert it to get them working. I did that repeatedly until that didn't work anymore. I took it into GMC to be fixed for a second time, they fixed them and charged me for that work, only to have the cameras fail again. I had a GMC service team inspect the cameras for a third time while performing a total engine replacement (more to come on that). Their findings AFTER completing a total engine replacement were that the cameras work fine, and they didn't have any explanation as to why they were magically working again. The cameras worked for two weeks before going out again. Now GMC wants me to pay to get the entire camera module replaced. This was a lemon part, and it is the responsibility of GMC to replace it.On top of camera struggles, GMC decided to create one horrible feature and exclude one necessary feature on the 2023 Sierra models. The horrible feature was a new wheel lock that is unique to each vehicle and has no master key in all of GMC. So, when a GMC service team decided to keep my wheel lock key during a tire rotation service, I was left stranded with a flat tire that could not be removed. GMC's only solution was to break the wheel off the truck and have me pay for a brand new one. But don't worry, after paying $1,500 for a new wheel and being out of commission while traveling for 3 days, the GMC service team who kept my wheel lock keys mailed them back to me. I never should have had to pay out of pocket for an issue created by a GMC service team's negligence. The feature GMC decided not to include on this truck (because it is supposed to be the best of the best and never fail) was the ability to shift into neutral when the engine won't start. Well, my 18 month old, $72,000 GMC Sierra had its engine turn off while I was driving and needed to be towed. The AAA team that GMC employs for towing refused to tow my vehicle because this feature did not exist and they were unwilling to drag the vehicle for fear of liability for powertrain damage. I was stranded on a dangerous stretch of highway for 4 hours waiting for tow trucks to appear and refuse to tow. Eventually, highway patrol had to force someone to tow my vehicle. On top of all of that, is the engine replacement. While towing a travel trailer (the specific task these vehicles are advertised for), my engine turned off. No warning, no sputtering, no weird noises. Just turned off, and I had to use momentum to pull to the side of the road. I had to wait a full 4 days including a weekend to have a GMC shop tell me the ignition fuse needed replacing. They charged me $900 for that and sent me on my way STATING they did not know why that part would cause the engine to turn off. Less than 50 minutes after leaving the GMC service shop, my engine turned off while I was driving. This time in a much more dangerous area where I was not able to pull off the road. (The towing story has already been told.) On this second evaluation, it took them one day to tell me it would be a total engine replacement, and they would have to fly a new engine from Michigan to Seattle. Their system said it would take 4 days for the new engine to arrive, so they told me to expect it to take 2 weeks. Nine weeks later, the work would be done. Four weeks in, I asked to start the reimbursement process as the rental car costs were becoming too burdensome. They assigned me to a backordered parts team who was going to set me up on monthly reimbursements. 14 weeks later, I have not received a dime of the nearly $6,000 that I am owed in reimbursement.

My boss purchased a 2020 GMC Sierra…

My boss purchased a 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 for my pilot vehicle. One of the main selling points are the sensors that are in the bumper and the rear of truck due to the tight spaces. Just a few days ago my sensors failed and in turn I curled the bumper back because of a concrete slab the sensor did not sense. Now because its not enough to claim for insurance because of the rates we are paying now, I'm having to pay out of pocket the almost 2k for a new bumper. When a key selling point fails, I feel sure he should buy any more GMC's.

Bought a new Sierra 1500 Denali…

Bought a new Sierra 1500 Denali Ultimate just over a year ago. 3200 miles into it engine went. In the shop for a month. It went back into the shop approximately 6 months later fo two recalls and needs to go back and in for some odd behavior with the transmission. Funny sound and showed it was in ‘off-road’ mode no matter what I did. That has now gone away but who knows? A little of my history before I continue, my father retired from GM Manufacturing, my stepfather, mother and most of my family worked for GM for many years in and around Saginaw, MI. So we have always been GM people.Bottom line, never again. Not only did GMC not buy back this lemon, they really refused to do anything other than do the repairs. Looks great, great bells and whistles, nice to interior. Piece of crap that the company will not acknowledge.I will be a Ford buyer from here on out, even though I can buy GM through the family plan.Thoroughly disappointed in what has become of this once great company. All I can say is if you still choose to buy one of these vehicles, know your on your own.Gene

GMC Canyon

I recently purchased a 2015 GMC Canyon with less than 60,000 miles on the odometer. It boasts all the latest features and is sleek in black color. The interior is luxurious, featuring leather upholstery, heated seats, and an electric start-up. Reverse camera and navigation system. Everything is in perfect working condition.

I will never buy a GMC vehicle again engine failure!!!!

I will never buy a GMC vehicle again. I own at 2021 Yukon Denali that I paid $85,000 for. I’m at 76,000 miles and have meticulously Mainers the car. Two weeks ago, the car went into neutral going 80mph on a busy way with my you d child in the car. I couldn’t excellent. Thankfully, there was a shoulder I could pull over on. The engine had seized and the car would not start. It’s now going to cost over $8,000 for a new engine. And the ending won’t be in for over a month. So I’m now without a car, in a rental and have to pay for a new engine. These 6.2l engines are known to have these problems but there has not been a recall. This could have turned out much worse, had a shoulder not been available to pull over onto. This engine should have lasted for at least 200,000 miles. GMC will not cover the cost to replace the faulty engine. I will never trust this brand again for the safety of my family and my finances.
