They were charging me multiple times per month for over a year AFTER I was notified my account was frozen and would be deactivated if I didn't resolve it within 30 days. I intentionally didn't unfreeze it because I didn't care to continue the service. Then I was told the most refund they could give me was 3 months worth --- even though they shouldn't have been charging me in the first place. It's been 35 min and I'm still sitting on hold. The worst customer service experience ever. I would not recommend them to a single freaking person!! So frustrating.**UPDATE*** They issued a refund for the 14 months they "mistakenly" charged me. Guess it was worth the 45 minutes on the phone.
Intuitive and affordable tool to teach kids basic money management. We use this to distribute allowance, offer payment for additional chores and make other one-time distributions. The kids monitor their own transactions and balances and transfer funds to each other as payment for items or services. We have one child in particular who has shown considerable growth in understanding the value of saving since using this service.
I cannot say enough bad things about green light. We thought it was the perfect solution for our 5 kids to learn how to manage money. But within the first 24 hours i should have know it was not. When the kids first used their cards after the initial set up, it froze all their cards for fraudulent activity because I had funded too many cards in one day. Then we got that released, which took well over a week. Then t said I couldn’t fund all of the cards with a bank account that for faster transfer of money we need to use debit card so I uploaded all the debit cards. Then they said we couldn’t use the debit cards for funding because the kids names were on the account, even though I am the parent and i am on the account but because my kids name was on the bank account that it couldn’t be used for funding. The bottom line is I’m trying to use my money to put on this card and they would not allow that to happen and now that I have canceled the service I asked for all the money to be put back into my bank account. They’ve already removed all the funds from greenlight with no proof of how much was taken out of each of their accounts, so I have no way of knowing how much was in each account and what amount to expect back into my bank account. There’s no history there at all on green light ap. They have removed at all, so definitely not customer friendly do not use if you have more than one kid.
Easy app for kids and parents alike. I originally got debit cards for my teens from my local bank but they weren’t able to easily see and monitor their transactions. Greenlight illustrates where and how kids spend money which has been quite eye opening to my kids.
