Review Time
Not the best experience. Brought a car from them back in September, and travelled very far for it. I asked the dealer to give me a thorough review of the car because of my long trip. Dealer says he couldn’t see anything. After arriving I noticed straight away that the inside trim was excessively damaged. The dealer said it wouldn’t cost much at a local Audi dealer to be repaired. The promised to reimburse the parts. After getting a quote at a local Audi the labour was four times the price of the parts. I went back to dealer and they would contribute a little more, but still wouldn’t even cover half the costs. My problem is the dealer pressured me into the sale and did not given me an expectation that to rectify the car would cost four times the parts cost to get it fixed. He didn’t say what the cost would be for example if I got it done at Group1. It’s just a broken gentleman agreement, and some dishonesty, and shady way of dealings with customers. Wouldn’t recommend to family or friends as it’s left a sour feeling.
Mechanical team, reception team and staff absolutely outstanding, top people, I am sooo happy with my Mercedes. Service was 10 out of 10, Mercedes always surprises me with top quality job. I will stay brand loyal for every as i absolutely love the quality, comfort and performance. I have cla35 and Mercedes gave me 25 plate gla35 as a loan car, what a lovely surprise, absolutely ecstatic 😊
I recently purchased a 2009 Mini for my son and contacted Mini to arrange a health check. They promptly booked us in at Group 1 Automotive in Bishop's Stortford (Standsted Road) for the same day, quoting £29.99 including a valet.Kelly Brace handled everything with exceptional professionalism. She took the car in and had the health check completed within the hour, providing a detailed video confirming everything was in good condition. When I inquired about the valet, Kelly kindly ensured it was done—even though I later discovered that this particular branch does not charge for health checks.I was slightly embarrassed by the misunderstanding, but grateful that Kelly was so gracious and accommodating. Thank you, Kelly, for a great experience we will be back for a MOT and service when its due.
I recently visited the Mercedes showroom and had an outstanding experience from start to finish. Upon arrival, I was warmly welcomed by the receptionist, which immediately set a positive tone for the visit.I was then introduced to the salesperson, Aroun Rajput, who truly made the entire process seamless and enjoyable. Aroun spent several hours with us, patiently guiding us through every detail and helping us make an informed decision. His deep knowledge, professionalism, and genuine willingness to assist made a significant difference.What truly stood out was Aroun’s dedication—he went above and beyond by not only helping us select the right vehicle but also ensuring all the necessary procedures were handled efficiently. He proactively coordinated with the workshop team and kept us informed at every stage, making the handover process completely smooth and stress-free.Thanks to Aroun and the team, this has been one of the best showroom experiences I’ve had. If you value your time, money and mental health, do not use Inchcape Chester.Bought a Tiguan here, which has now been into their workshop three times for the same leak - so far costing more than £1,400 for unnecessary and ineffective repairs, yet the car still floods in the exact same places. On the second attempt, we were charged more than £542 and assured the problem was fixed, but after just 10 days and the very first rainfall, the car leaked again (worse than before) and is now back with Inchcape for a third repair.We had to visit the technicians in the garage and it was revealed to us that the so-called “extensive water test”, that they charged us £350 for, turned out to be nothing more than a domestic garden hose lightly spraying the car at low pressure. We repeatedly pointed out where the water was coming in but instead, Inchcape insisted on their own incorrect diagnosis and billed us for it.Communication has been absolutely appalling. We were, on several occasions, promised call-backs and not once did it ever happen. Instead, we constantly had to chase and even when physically driving to the Inchcape to try and get answers, we were told nobody was available to speak to us. Even after explaining that we urgently needed a courtesy car, during its third repair, to visit my spouse who was in critical care in hospital, we were dismissed. The lack of empathy and customer care has been shocking.Even more concerning, Inchcape state that if they need to remove the panoramic sunroof and it is damaged in the process, by their technicians, they will charge the customer £3,500 to fix it - a dealership that sells a huge amount of cars with sunroofs should have the means to safely and effectively remove and refit them without causing major damage, and certainly without passing such financial risks on to the customer.Inchcape Chester have shown incompetence, indifference and a complete disregard for us and have attempted to bleed us dry at every turn. I would strongly advise anyone considering their services to go elsewhere.
