P s Group 1 just took over Alan Day new Southgate last month according to them yet they have a review page showing reviews that you can't add onto how is it possible to have so many reviews just go look at Alan day past reviews in new Southgate it speaks volumes group 1 your faking it let it be known
Just purchased a MB A class from Ipswich Sales Executive was Damion Boyce and was very pleased with the whole process. I was taken through the whole procedure with care and at a pace which was comfortable for me the car was presented well on both my visits and I felt that all my questions would be answered honestly and fairly.
Well done I am very pleased with my purchase.
Following the recent purchase of a vehicle from their BMW dealership in Worthing, we returned the car within three days after concerns became apparent following handover, both regarding the vehicle and aspects of the customer experience, which we felt fell below our and BMW expectations.
We sought further clarity regarding what had happened and why our experience unfolded in this way. At this stage, we have not received a detailed explanation and have been advised to refer the matter to the independent Motor Ombudsman for formal review.
We respect the importance of independent oversight and due process, and will allow this process to conclude before commenting further.
We are sharing this simply in the spirit of transparency and will reflect further once the independent review has reached an outcome.
I had a very disappointing experience with Group 1 Toyota after purchasing a used Toyota RAV4 diesel.
Within a few days of purchase, serious issues appeared, including excessive carbon build-up inside the engine. From the first day, I also noticed a defective headlight, rattling noise from the exhaust, and a faulty infotainment touchscreen. These are issues that should have been identified during the dealer’s pre-sale inspection.
I later found evidence that the vehicle had previous carbon-related problems and a sensor replacement before my purchase, which was not clearly disclosed to me.
As a result, I had to reject the vehicle under the Consumer Rights Act. Although the dealership agreed to refund me, they deducted £450 for transport costs, which I felt was unfair given the faults were present at the time of sale.
This situation caused me significant stress. I had to take four days off work, resulting in lost income. I had also taken a personal loan to purchase the car in good faith. During this time, my wife was pregnant and we struggled without reliable transportation.
Eventually I received my refund, but the entire experience was stressful and poorly handled. Communication was not supportive, and I did not feel my concerns were taken seriously.
I hope the dealership improves its inspection standards and customer care so others do not experience the same situation
Mercedes Stevenage, not all the work was done on my car. I was promised by the advisor that I would be reinvited for another appointment to complete the remaining jobs, and he would also quote for the further suggested required jobs by email, but it has been more than 6 working days, and I haven't heard anything. Customer service was good, and the receptionist was very helpful.
But not worth the value if all work is not done, while I am willing to pay. If a Mercedes dealer cannot fix a Mercedes car, then who else? I have already completed the feedback requested via email, but I haven't heard back yet, so I am sharing this publicly now.

I purchased an Approved Used Audi from Audi Chingford in June 2022, a Group 1 Automotive Dealership. I paid full dealership price for a three-year-old car and I was told it came with a full service history, as expected under the Approved Used scheme.
When I recently requested the service history, I discovered there were no recorded services between 2018 and 2022. The dealership’s only offer was to buy the car back at trade value, far below what it would sell for with a proper service history.
Selling a three-year-old car with no previous service history at full price is unacceptable. I feel the vehicle was misrepresented and mis-sold, and this experience has put me, my friends, and family off buying from any Group 1 Audi dealership.
I would not recommend Group 1 dealerships and definately do not trust their approved used schemes. The lack of accountability and real resolution is really shocking.
3 years of terrible customer service. I had to escalate it to Mercedes HEV in the end. The group replied to my Google review, advising me to reach out to them; I did and they never replied!!
The latest comedic episode was me asking for a repair quote and being completely ignored.
I am thoroughly pleased with the service I received during the repair of my car. The entire process was seamless, well-organized, and very straightforward from beginning to end. The team members were all excellent, professional, helpful, and communicated clearly. Overall, it was a very smooth and positive experience, and I would gladly recommend their service to family and friends!
About a year ago, I visited this service center after my insurance company assigned my car's repair to a different provider, whose service was incredibly disappointing. I found this center listed as an approved repairer for my vehicle. Upon arrival, I was warmly welcomed by a professional team, all highly skilled at their tasks. In just 30 minutes, the repair was assessed, and I was provided with a courtesy car. One of the representatives even advocated with my insurance company on my behalf, confirming my right to choose this center, which was on their approved list. They accomplished more in that short time than the previous provider had in a week, filled with excuses and no apologies. This center clearly stood out. My initial impression was reinforced as the repair process continued. Although there was a slight delay due to the need for additional parts, it didn’t affect me, and communication was consistent through texts and occasional calls. When I picked up my car, it looked as good as new. I did notice some minor imperfections over time, but they were acceptable given the nature of repairs. I appreciate the quality of the work and the meticulous attention to detail. Minor issues I found didn’t warrant any complaints; everything functioned perfectly. This morning, I found the front bumper slightly misaligned, but it easily popped back into place. I was relieved, as I would have considered returning to this service center if it hadn’t. Overall, my experience here was excellent, prompting me to finally share this review. Thank you to the entire team for their outstanding service.
Visited today. The representative left us to browse a vehicle for over 20 minutes without assistance. When we approached his desk, he revealed a £9k discrepancy on the listed price. Despite the advertised mileage being 151, he claimed it was something else. He dismissed our concerns, saying, "well all I can do is apologize and find you another one." This experience highlighted issues of false advertising, misleading practices, and a lack of proper customer service training.
