Review Time
Van was great. Very reliable and easy to drive. However the cooking stove was not good you literally could not fry an egg with it. Pick up from the airport was 20 minutes later than identified and was not welcomed after a longish over night flight. Overall myexperience with Happy Campers was positive. I received quick helpful responses from HC before picking up the vehicle and would rent from them again.
Happy Camper really did make this camper happy. My vehicle was an older model from the previous year but was still in excellent condition and worked flawlessly. This is such a great way to travel around Iceland. For less than the cost of a hotel room you get transportation, cooking facilities, bed linens, crockery, and the freedom to go and stop wherever and whenever you want. Happy Camper made my 10 days in Iceland a huge success and I'm looking forward to using them again for my 2019 trip.
i want to give 5 stars, i really do, because the staff was great, the camper had everything i needed and i had a great experience. EXCEPT for the fact that i was sent out (unknowingly) with 4 nearly bald tires and i got a flat on day 3 of a 10 day trip. i admit, i didn't check the tires before i left because i never considered the possiblity that they would send me out with an unsafe vehicle. it took me 3.5 hours to get the tire changed, between locating the extremely well hidden tool kit and closing the flat back in the nearly-impossible-for-one-person-to-manage cage. Three and a half precious hours of my limited time on the vacation of a lifetime, and multiple planned side trips which i could no longer take for safety reasons because i didn't have a spare tire. when i returned my happy1, the gentleman who inspected it said NONE of the tires were fit to have sent me out on (including the spare) and i wouldn't be held responsible for the flat. however, instead of giving me a discount on my bill as an amends for the time and trouble i was caused by their irresponsibility and carelessness, i was told i would get a discount on my NEXT rental. it wasn't like the camper only had 3 plates instead of 4.... the camper i was given was admittedly unsafe. extremely POOR customer service from an otherwise good company.
Very helpful from the time of booking online till the time we turned in the vehicle. The van was in great condition and helped make our trip fantastic. We would recommend them to anyone and would definitely use them again for a return trip.
