I received my Hilo yesterday in Malta. I had to ask my brother-in-law to bring it with him during a family visit. The band and cuff work great, but the app feels a bit messy—there’s too much going on on the front page. It would be better to have clearer navigation and to hide less important banners on separate pages. The biggest disappointment, however, is the bracelet strap. It’s too small for a man—it only fits on the last hole. I find it hard to believe that they couldn’t include a larger strap in the box. Now I have to place another order just to get a larger strap, which with shipping will cost me £35. Including an extra strap would have cost them maybe 50 cents.
The bracelet has been very disappointing, I have it for 4 weeks and has STOPPED working. I have emailed the company about it for the past few days and I received an email to say someone will contact me but since on the 3 May 2025 no response. I am really really stressed about this and very disappointed as I paid over £200 for the bracelet. I have only had it for 4 weeks and all I want is someone to sort it out or give me my money back.
Worked great as Aktiila since rebranded as HiloI don’t get readings because it is monetized .I refuse to pay extra so my £209 purchase is useless it would seem unless I pay £50 a year extra. No email or phone support just bots.Always a sign that customers don’t matter once sold to
I am a medic and have been monitoring my by on medication for years. THe band consistently registers my systolic at 20mmHg higher than it is on taking my blood pressure either with the provided cuff or a standard sphygmomanometer. Also almost no change in the readings over time. I am unconvinced that this is a useful monitor. Luckily I at least know enough not to be worried by the output. I would suggest avoid.
does not work. Seems to be damaged. Tried to initialize the wrist band dozens of times, each time without success. This "lucy" assistant is a joke. Customer support is non-reactive. No phone number. I bought this joke of a device on doctor's recommendation who "has heard of it". Already not looking forward to the response "once opened cannot be returned" for a fake reason like "medical device" - which in the app states. their T&C requires an account to access!! (link to Confluence!!!) EDIT / RESPONSE I HAVE reached out to support, with no response. the chat bot is terrible customer support. useless. no phone numbers anywhere. email - no response I hope their investors read this. No idea how they got so much money for such a terrible product and service
My wife and I both have Aktiias (now Hilo). It is a great product for anyone who cares about their health and longevity. We periodically compare the readings to a clinic grade Omron unit and always find the Aktiia very accurate. Best of all, they stand behind their product. When my wife started having trouble getting her Aktiia to initialize, we contacted their customer support. Aside from being a little slow to respond at times, they were great. They worked with us through an extended process of diagnosing the problem and ultimately replaced the bracelet and confirmed that everything was working. No matter how hard a company works to maintain good quality products, things will sometimes go wrong. The difference between a good company and a bad one is how they respond when that happens. Aktiia's response was great!
The device proved to be dangerously inaccurate and ineffective. Allegedly “approved” and/or validated by medical organisations including the NHS, yet my BP readings and data proved to be regularly incorrect. The consequences for me personally lead to incorrect diagnosis and unnecessary medication including increased dosages. Despite my exchanges with their support team their constant assurances of hourly multiple readings 24/7 finally proved false when compared to being fitted with an NHS 24 hour monitor. The readings on the Aktiia device on average were 10-15 mmHG higher on both systolic and diastolic readings and did not alter during sleep. This is a dangerous device that you should not purchase and whilst more cumbersome you should definitely stick with a traditional device. Having spoken with a number of Cardiologists and Hypertension specialists they have also confirmed that this is the case with numerous of their patients. As you might expect Aktiia have refused me a refund despite my proof but instead have now relaunched their “brand” to Hilo most likely to cover for/distract consumers from the problems with their product. I strongly recommend that you steer clear!
Recently rebrand from Aktiia to Hilo, this expensive blood pressure band, which can only be used through their own results management app is now holding your month+ results history behind a paywall. They're also holding health connection access behind a pay wall and their results export is PDF only. Both of which may break GDPR Right to Data Portability and Right of Access (Subject Access Request)
