After about 6 months of use, I am not getting any measurements even though it connect with the app and the troubleshooting area just asks to check battery charge, which I checked is full. Most frustratingly, I cannot find a contact telephone or email to ask the question.
I’ve had the band for 3 weeks. Was working well, then the battery started draining from full to empty in less than 30 minutes. I raised a support ticket. Raised two days ago. No response. There is no number to call for support and the chat function is purely a bot that goes around in circles, then raises a support ticket - still no response. For a high value product the support is shocking. I continue to wait for a response.
Like many other users, I'm seeing an inaccurate trend.I've had my wrist band device for about 2 years. Initially I found it good and reliable - for about the first 9 months.I then noticed it became quite difficult to get a bluetooth connection with the App. I didn't use it for several months until there was a firmware upgrade. When it became hilo. The Bluetooth performance drastically improved, although I noticed my BP was high by quite a bit which did worry me.I've bought a new cuff device to check my BP separately. I've noticed the systolic number on Hilo is consistently 15 points higher than the cuff. The Diastolic being 7 points higher. So whilst I'm happy my BP is normal, I find the Hilo wrist device a bit lacking unfortunately
I have had the Aktiia band for several years. Mostly happy with it (although the actual wrist band is not particularly comfortable to wear) - but the switch to Hilo and the new app is not good. They seem to have made it harder to just get the basic data. Now looking for an alternative
Under the Aktiia brand my wife and I were able to take turns using it, each for a month or two at a time. Now, under the Hilo band we are no longer able to do that and basic functionality like syncing data and downloading reports requires a paid membership. This is a bait and switch and I would even go so far as to call it a scam. This company has engaged in anticompetitive behaviour in my opinion. Even if you are OK with the subscription fees I would recommend against because the company itself has shown itself to be unethical.Update: it took a little while with support but they manually updated my wife’s account to be grandfathered. I feel there is still a problem here in that the grandfathering should automatically follow the device serial number so that devices purchased prior to the business model change can be freely used or even sold with no subscription required by the new user.
I purchased the bracelet 18 months ago & was very satisfied. Since the App has changed it no longer connects with my iPhone & is therefore useless. I followed all the fixes suggested by Hilo, but without success. Perhaps I am now expected to pay a subscription, but I have no faith that it will resolve the problem. At £200+ it has proved to be an expensive mistake. Hilo is apparently happy to dump its customers & I’m happy to dump them.
I've had this device for several years now. It always was a bit dodgy as my I often get the message "sorry, the server is a little slower than usual at the moment, please try again later". When I try immediately it said that I am fully synced. Then the screen shows 'No Measurements'When it need says "Reinitialization is needed" (note American spelling) it can grow from normal BP (70/120) to 85/145 so doubtful accuracy. The reinitialisation process is enough to put anybody's blood pressure up. It takes several attempts, connects and then says "you are not connected"In summary, a device to avoid is you want an accurate and consistent BP reading. Nice idea but wishful thinking if you believe this device will accurately monitor your systolic and diastolic blood pressure. I wish I had never bought it.
I have had the HiLo for about 4 months now. Previously rather uncontrolled BP with medication. I was fortunate to have a 24 hospital BP monitor and was able to see very good correlation with the HiLo. Attending GP for sporadic tests was completely unreliable and did not correlate with 24 hr or HiLo recordings. Medication now altered to suit HiLo readings feel much better and the readings are very stable.
