Picked up my Mercedes GLA from Hippo Motor Group today and I honestly couldn’t be happier with the whole experience.
Raphael was amazing from the start – he showed me multiple options and really took the time to explain each one properly, including all the features and what would suit me best. The test drive was really helpful and I never felt rushed or pressured into making a decision.
When it came to collection, Olivia handled the handover and she was brilliant. She explained the finance side of things clearly and made sure I understood everything before signing. Before I left, she double-checked that I had all the documents and everything I needed. I highly recommend Hippo!
I acquired the vehicle in August 2025. The only positive aspect of my experience was with a representative who was friendly and professional. Unfortunately, it seems he overlooked the car's condition. Shortly after buying it, I noticed a wet shock absorber and was told it was normal. When I reported a grinding noise while driving, I was sent to a mechanic, which led to a series of issues. One mechanic indicated a gearbox problem, and after spending £700 on repairs, the noise persisted. A further inspection revealed no oil in the differential, which is hazardous for both me and other drivers. Additionally, the handbrake was ineffective, and the rear discs and pads required replacement. The company claimed the vehicle had undergone 130 safety checks, yet I question how it passed its MOT. Despite purchasing a warranty for peace of mind, I continue to face ongoing car troubles and expenses. I've lodged another complaint, and I'm uncertain of the outcome. The warranty appears to be a money-making scheme. I would strongly advise against this company, as they seem unprofessional and sell vehicles with concealed issues.

After numerous calls, they admitted they forgot to apply it, but they certainly remembered to take my money. The vehicle has been dangerous, veering off the road three times. I later found out there’s an active safety recall, which makes it illegal to sell. I contacted them to speak to a manager, and was promised a call back, but no one reached out. Legal action is being pursued, and trading standards have been notified.

I had a terrible experience with the service. The car I received had a fault with the steering wheel controls that wasn't identified during the handover check or during the service. After much effort, they agreed to let Jaguar diagnose it, only to find out that a component had been damaged by the previous owner’s misuse. Despite reporting the issue the day after receiving the car, I was blamed for it. I have now filed a complaint with a consumer protection organization. I would advise against purchasing from this garage.
I faced some unexpected issues during my purchase that were quite frustrating. However, the aftersales team really made a difference in addressing everything. One team member in particular was outstanding—he listened attentively, showed genuine care, and ensured the issues were resolved properly. Others on the team were also very helpful, keeping me informed and making the entire process much less stressful. While things don’t always go smoothly, the way a team responds can change the experience, and I’m grateful for their support.

The last documented service was approximately 20,000 miles ago, and I expected basic service items to be completed. The first email confirms the car was serviced, while the second explains their servicing process, which differs from what some may expect. I have provided my car registration and name, and will update if I receive further response.
I had an issue with my new/used car and needed the customer care team’s assistance. Initially, I felt I wasn’t getting enough help, but after doing some research and reaching out, I received very useful information that addressed my concerns. The customer care team worked diligently to resolve my issue, coordinating with the warranty company and handling all the necessary paperwork.
