Unknown Policy cancellation

I have been with Hiscox for about 3 years and had automatic payments on my credit card. Last year they had issues with their COI; dates incorrect, issuing in a timely matter, typos, etc. Then last week I requested policy document, finally had to call them. Was told my policy has not been active since June 2024. I have plast COI with policy date of Sept 2025. For some reason they stopped taking payment but never told me. I reapplied through Progressive and it quoted a price that was almost double from previous premium.

This insurer used to be reliable

This insurer used to be reliable, but for the past two years, getting a Certificate of Insurance (COI) has been a nightmare. Every time I need one, I end up spending hours or even days following up — there's always some excuse about their system.Today, things hit a new low. I was informed my insurance policy had been canceled, despite being charged the monthly fee just six days ago. After speaking with a representative, I was told it was a system error, and they had to open a ticket that could take up to 24 hours to fix. Meanwhile, I need to submit my COI by Wednesday or risk losing a $5,000 contract.I strongly advise looking for another insurance company. If they struggle this much with basic paperwork, I can’t imagine what a claims process would be like. They should be ashamed of their poor service.

They are CROOKS

They are CROOKS! I signed up with them a week ago. since then I found Geico had better rates. I called today to cancel Hiscox and they are refunding me 20 cents of my 472.00 I paid just a week ago! They claim I was told this when I signed up. That is a LIE! Beware if Hiscox! They are thieves and a crooked company!

Inexplicable charges on my account

Inexplicable charges on my account. I've spend hours on the phone with customer service to understand why I have random charges from Hiscox for thousands of dollars on my credit card. I still have not been given any actual information. They tell me that a manager will call me back in 24-28 hours but I have yet to receive a callback. They've told me that at least 10 times and I've never been contacted by a manager. Do these managers exist? Is this "manager" in the room with us right now?They also canceled my policy for no reason (they admitted this was done in error). I spent months on the phone with them to get it reinstated and backdated.Its companies like this that make people cynical about the insurance industry.

I tried to put in a claim for a broken window and months later it is still not resolved. Different people contacted me each time and they all wanted more information. I've cancelled my insurance because what's the point if they don't pay up. As a small business its galling.

Dumped by Hiscox!

Been with Hiscox for my sole trader business insurance for years, then this last week they dumped me. They confirmed they couldn't cover me for the "in hair salon" part of my business (which is new) as it comes under a different category to retail, so I asked to run two separate policies. Not only did they decline but they also cancelled my existing policy, giving me 30 days to find an alternative insurer.Been with them for years and no issues, never needed a claim, then all of a sudden they want nothing to do with my business. I make wigs for women going through hair loss, I am not a high risk customer. Thankfully I have sorted it with other companies now but Hiscox just drew a line and said "byeee".

Poor Customer Service and Unfair Cancellation Fees

My experience with Hiscox Insurance was deeply disappointing. The quality of customer service left much to be desired. The representative I spoke with did not listen to my concerns and completely dismissed my issue without offering any real solutions. It felt as though my situation was not important to them at all.On top of that, their policy cancellation process is unfair and riddled with excessive fees. The cancellation charges were unreasonable and came off as a deliberate attempt to profit from customers trying to exit their services.Overall, I would not recommend Hiscox to anyone looking for an insurance provider. A company that disregards its customers’ concerns and penalizes them with unjust fees does not deserve your business. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere!

Avoid. Made a perfectly valid claim on my business insurance for the theft of some of my equipment which Hiscox rejected. Pointless having insurance with them.

**Critical Review of Hiscox and Bikmo Bicycle Insurance Services:**I insured my mountain bike with Bikmo and Hiscox, but my experience with their services has been extremely disappointing. In May, my bike was stolen from my building's bike room. It was secured with a Bikmo-approved lock and chain, but the thief managed to either pick the lock or use an angle grinder to cut through the bike, leaving the lock intact. I reported the theft to the police immediately and also informed Bikmo/Hiscox.Despite following all the required procedures, my claim was rejected. The police informed me that thefts like this are common and that the bike could have been sold for parts. The third-party investigator from Crawfords asked me irrelevant questions, like why I didn't ask all my neighbors if they saw anything. It's ridiculous to expect customers to act like detectives in such situations. I had already done everything I was supposed to do—using an approved lock, reporting the theft to the police, and filing the claim promptly.The insurers denied my claim, stating they couldn't prove I locked the bike properly. How am I supposed to prove that? Should I have taken photos every time I locked my bike? After my claim was rejected in July, I filed a complaint, but it took them until September to respond, and they didn't uphold my complaint.I've continued to pay for their so-called insurance service, but I’ve lost both the cost of my bike and the premiums I've paid. Now I'm left with an intact approved lock but no bike and a complete distrust of bike insurance companies. The whole process was lengthy, frustrating, and ultimately pointless.When you first buy the policy, everything seems smooth, but if you’re unlucky enough to need to file a claim, you’re in for a lengthy and painful process, only to end up with no coverage. Moreover, even though you buy your insurance from Bikmo, you end up dealing with Hiscox and Crawfords, repeatedly sending the same information, pictures, and receipts. This kind of customer service is unacceptable.I strongly advise against purchasing bike insurance from Bikmo or Hiscox, and I would stay away from any services involving Crawfords. They make the claims process unnecessarily complicated and ultimately do not provide the coverage they promise.

Well I had an insurance policy when it got I own an ice cream business my Vans get plugged in every night you get plugged into the truck every morning but for that some reason they put in my policy the power surges are not covered which occurs once in a blue moon plug in the van in at night they said oh well did not care that I was canceling my policy did not care that problems
