The overall dining experience was deeply disappointing, both in terms of food quality and service. Upon arrival, we were seated uncomfortably close to another couple, and shortly after, a waitress spilled a drink over one of them — which also splashed onto me. Despite the clear mess, not a single staff member offered me a napkin or an apology. Service throughout the meal was inattentive and disorganised; staff were unhelpful when asked about the menu, forgot to bring requested sauces (which were chargeable but this wasn’t communicated), and we had to repeatedly flag them down to correct missing items. By the time the sauces arrived, our food was nearly finished — not that it made much difference. The £15 burger was underwhelming: small, oily, and barely warm, with the addition of a dry bun and no moisture from the forgotten condiments. Despite requesting a swap from vegan cheese to cheddar, we were charged for both. To top it all off, the atmosphere was chaotic: flies buzzing around, no air conditioning on a hot day, and the doors wide open, making the environment sticky and unpleasant. A discretionary service charge was automatically added, which felt completely unjustified given the poor service and lack of attention to basic customer care.
Spitalfields branch. The trendy use of 1980s school tables and chairs makes it impossible to eat comfortably.Ironically, the chicken tenders, were anything but! Overfried and rock hard both in the burger and as a side. The so-called NY deli burger was pretty average and not the taste explosion promised. Staff were good and discounted half the cost of the the tenders, but I am surprised by how things have changed at this particular branch. I won’t be going again and unfortunately cannot recommend.
I bought a beef burger at the Covent Garden branch and had a terrible experience of the franchise. The employees were very rude and not behaving like they were welcoming a customer. I was spoken to with high pitch and almost argued with if I didn’t undertake the approach.Besides I ordered a medium-well done beef burger but what I had was a rare -medium cooked burger. I guess that was my last experience with them…
I booked a private event following team building at Honest Burgers in Windsor for 28 guests – prepaid in good faith for both food and drinks two weeks before the event took place. Plenty of time to ensure adequate staffing and glasses It was a shambles from start to finish.Despite arriving 45 minutes early to ensure everything was set, the tables weren’t ready. I found myself helping the waitress set up wine glasses (she then told me there wasn’t enough for our guests), and there was just one small ice bucket provided for a large group when beers and wine had not been chilled. Only 30 beers were served out of the 50 paid for, and we had to swap the remaining for soft drinks – which we had to serve ourselves from a fridge with no clean glasses. The waitress – completely alone – had no support when the food arrived, so I ended up helping to serve our own guests. At multiple points, I had to step in to assist with drinks and food. For a paid event at a national brand, this was embarrassing and unprofessional.I flagged the situation while we were on-site. Both the waitress and the manager apologised and admitted this was far below Honest Burgers' standards. I was told a refund for the unconsumed wine and beers would be arranged – but more than two weeks after we followed up in writing (as requested), we have received nothing but silence. It’s not just the poor execution – it’s the complete failure to take accountability afterwards that’s left the worst taste. If you're considering booking an event here – my advice would be don’t. Not very Honest Burgers.
A person called Amina was serving us and she made sure it was a horrible service. She kept talking behind our backs and refused to serve us even when we repeatedly asked for her help on a problem with the burgers. The branch was Spitalfields, London.

It’s been over 10 years and we’d like to think we’re now pretty good at burgers and chips. It’s been a bit of a blur, a lot of hard work, but that’s been half the fun. Good enough just isn’t good enough here. We don’t mean to brag but we’re all about top quality beef, the best potatoes and good times. Don’t just take our word for it though, we’ll let our food and people do the talking. After all, we’re Just Being Honest…
From day one, we wanted to make the best British burgers on any menu, anywhere. So we spent time getting to know the best butchers in London.
And we’re butchers too.
We’ve opened our own butchery so we can make the burgers we’d always dreamed of. Our way. From scratch.
Our beef comes from British native breed cows farmed in Great Britain & Northern Ireland. They’re grass-fed and well looked after with space to roam in the fields during spring, summer and autumn and only see a barn when it’s too cold outside during winter. We’ve also got our own butchery, making our burgers from scratch every single day. See more
