Last month I purchased a new iPhone 17 Pro from Currys/Carphone Warehouse which I paid £ 1099.00 on my debit card. I was told about ID Mobile as I currently have O2. I went online and decided to get the £10 pm no contract SIM only deal and made an online account and set up a direct debit, this was on 6th November. I received the SIM the following Monday 10th November. I placed it in the phone but I had no coverage for the Three network (which on the website showed good coverage). I could npot receive a text to activate my account. So after an hour or so on the chat I managed to get them to cancel the contract. They then sent me a bill for £1.78 for the 4 days up to cancellation despite the fact that I had not and could not use the service. I the discovered ID Mobile had carried out a hard search on my credit file causing my score to go from 996 down to 920 so now having problems of them doing a search without my permission for an ID Mobile account that I have never used and subsequently cancelled.
Started off well, then sadly when travelling in France let down had a breakdown & couldn’t use my phone as my service was cut without noticeAlso I can never get onto my online account with the app. That’s from day one, 11 months so will be leaving at end of contract. Also ID have increased the cost of my Sim from £10 to £15 & because I can’t access my account I can’t find out why.
I’ve spent days trying to cancel ID Mobile’s so-called “auto-renew” plan. They hide the cancel option completely and force you into a broken live chat system that wastes hours. The process is clearly designed to delay and frustrate people until they give up.After waiting for hours across multiple sessions, I was finally told that my request was “too early” to count, so I’ll still be charged nearly £30 for a plan I don’t even need. There’s no phone line, no proper email support, and no transparency — just scripted responses and a maze of digital walls to stop you leaving. It’s manipulative, time-wasting, and unfair to customers. I’m reporting this to Ofcom and warning everyone to stay far away from ID Mobile. Save yourself the stress — their systems are built to extract, not to serve.
