I ordered a desk lamp mid-September and finally received a lamp on November 1st. The lamp I received is nice enough, but it's not the model that was ordered. Why does it take 30 seconds to charge my credit card then it takes four weeks before they ship anything? Once I finally got a tracking number it sill took a week before there was any movement - it was stuck in a "Preparing" status for at least a week. Not going to try to exchange the lamp for what I did order because I don't want to deal with these people any more! Stay away.
I placed two orders with Iluminating. ORDER #1: Ordered some rechargeable lights. Immediately cancelled because I accidentally ordered the wrong color. They charged me anyway but no order was processed. I didn’t realize I’d been charged until I looked at my credit card bill. ORDER #2: Ordered 2 sets of rechargeable lamps. They sent me one set and never sent me the 2nd set. Realized the type I ordered was not the type I wanted. Asked them to reimburse me for the set that was not sent to me and asked for return instructions for the one that WAS sent to me. Instead they tried to convince me to keep the one set. After 4 email correspondences back and forth, they finally gave me return instructions but wound not reimburse me for the product not sent until the received my return product. And the returned item would be charged a restocking fee. I returned the product and waited. After about a week or so, I asked for a status and they asked me for a tracking number. In the midst of all this, they sent me a customer survey on my experience. I finally had to ask my credit card company for assistance because I no longer had any product NOR did I have a refund. Terrible terrible experience. Agree with other reviews calling it a scam!
Everything went wrong! I ordered sconces and wanted the manual version. On the website they showed a set of sconces with a button clearly shown on the sconces. I did not want ones that are controlled by a remote (when you or your grandchildren misplace theremote the lamps are useless). The lamps I received did not not have the button to turn the lights on and off. I contacted customer service online (only option) because they don't have a phone number.The responses that I have received throughout the return process have not addressed the questions that I have asked. They do not know what is on there website - to them manual is hard wired but all on the products are rechargeable battery powered! When I asked for an address and return instructions i was given an address in Baton Rouge LA. Weeks later the package was returned to me for being undeliverable by the USPS. I contacted the company to confirm the address and I was given an address in Phoenix AZ with an apology for the confusion. I asked for a prepaid label to resend this and they said they could not email a label to reimburse me for the $14.40 that I paid for the first attempt to return the sconces. I repeatedly asked to speak to a human representative Olivia of the Customer Service Team (probably AI) insisted in her emails that all my communications were with with humans - all named Olivia!Spending money to resend will only feed the SCAM!
I ordered a plug-in sconce and received a hard-wire sconce, completely different from what I ordered. After contacting the company, they asked for a video of the item, which I provided immediately. Instead of sending the correct product and a prepaid return label, they issued me a ticket number and then left me waiting for days between each response.After over three weeks with no resolution or clear communication on how they planned to fix their error, I decided to dispute the charge with my credit card company. Suddenly, I received an email offering a so-called “solution”: I could keep the wrong item and they would send me the correct one at a 30% discount. Their lack of timely communication, especially when the mistake was theirs is what truly damages their business. I do not recommend ordering from this company if you expect prompt customer service or accountability when errors occur.
Extremely poor product. Very poorly made. The pieces don't properly fit together, multiples items were missing from my shipment, and the wrong instructions were packed with my shipment. The customer service was just as bad. You need to chase consistently for a refund. If they finally do accept it, there is a minimum 20% restocking fee.
This company is a scam. DO NOT ORDER. I have been waiting for these lamps for four months and they refuse to refund me, even though their website claims they will refund you if it has taken over 30 days. I have had to ask repeatedly for a tracking number and the one they finally gave me doesn’t exist. SCAM.
