Review Time
Parked in a Slate Quay car park in Caernarfon at 16:33 left at 17:44 paid £4 for 2 hours so I was within the time. Today I received a £100 reduced to £60 if paid within 14 days! Robbery is what it is. I am not appealing with them thieves I am just going to try the public services Ombudsman as I am sure I won't be the first.
AVOID AVOID AVOIDPlease do not park here. I'd heard of a nice place for lunch in the town. I parked here for 2 hours. I came back after 1 and a half hours. Walked my dog around the grounds and got in my car and figured out where to go next. When I arrived I got out my car and paid straight away, my bank shows me paying at 14:18:28 and they say it was 14:08:28. Apparently I overstayed by 20 minutes. But it looks like they rig their times to be 10 minutes out each way. I was back at the car park well within time, I did sit in the car to figure out on the sat Nav where to go from there but I didn't think I overstayed my time. The initial letter said I didn't pay. When I proved I did, they said I overstayed. Absolute SCAM. I'm crushed as I don't have a lot of money to pay this when I didn't do anything wrong. Shame on this company and shame on the institutions that allow this to happen that don't protect people from sharks like this. Please please don't park here I don't want this terrible company to prey on anyone else. There's no telephone number so you can't speak to anyone and there's no one to report them to.
I intended to park in Fistral beach Newquay car park, but the machine wasn't accepting cards. So i had to go ask my friend for cash who was already parked down the hill. Obviously being disabled, this took me longer than the 'grace' period. My friend had no more cash, so i returned to my vehicle and left the carpark. It was 19 minutes in total. I provided initial parking with proof of my blue badge and and explanation of my mobility issues, yet they STILL would not accept my appeal. Disgusting prejudice and blatantly against the Equality Act 2010, (service providers are legally required to make reasonable adjustments for disabled individuals.) I am upset and very saddened by this experience.
This company is a complete scam. At parking lots their machines provide no way to pay using a card or cash. They only take coins. And failure to do so results in a 100 pound fine. Which is a ridiculous amount of money for parking in a lot for 15 mins. Scammers of the worst kind taking advantage of visitors to the UK. Shame on you!
Total scumbag...this parking company is a total waste of time and money. I parked my car at St's Micheals beach. Paid my parking at the machine as stated. Due to a printing error, it printed only half of the car registration. Now they send me a penalty notice saying I didn't pay. So I sent them the evidence of payment and a picture of the slip. They refused to accept the responsibility. I reported this BPA.
I usually avoid car parks run by shark operators but, while on holiday with my granddaughter, I visited Caernafon Castle and had to use Slate Quay car park on the 28th August. The payment machine was so poorly placed that when the sun was shining it made it almost impossible to read the screen and follow the instructions. When I first put in my six pound coins I followed the instructions as best I could see them in the bright sunlight. When I received the ticket I noted that my registration number wasn't printed on it. Knowing how these unscrupulous sharks work I rang their the helpline to explain my predicament. Completely useless! I kept on hearing a recorded message me telling me that I couldn't appeal a ticket using this number, so I rang off. I decided to pay another £6 rather than run the risk of a thoroughly unjustified extra charge via a PCN. The screen software is so badly designed that it allows a ticket to be produced without completing the registration field. By making this field mandatory, a simple software upgrade, this could be easily overcome. A cynic may conclude that this is merely a trap to catch unsuspecting motorists. Why Caernarfon Council allow these sharks to operate this car park, having such a poor record of customer service, as well as having a very narrow access and egress to the facility, is completely beyond me. I will always try to avoid any car park operated by this company in future.
I visited Lands End recently, but before I even arrived at the official car park, a parking marshal directed me to exit because the parking spaces were full. I ended up parking in a field just before the exit. There were no instructions regarding parking charges, and there was no parking ticket machine in the area where I parked. A week later, I received a letter from INITIAL Parking with a fine of £100.
Do not use this car park if you can help it.Used it on the 25th August, paid with coins ( correct amount ) unfortunately did not look at ticket until I received the threatening letter from this abysmal company. The machine ( old machine which appears to be passed its service date ) printed out wrong amount. If you have to use this car park pay with a card, do not use cash. Advice to this crooked firm..if you are conning people out of so much money then spend some of it on NEW RELIABLE MACHINES.
Parked at Fistral beach and thought I'd paid via the app. Checked my phone about 15 minutes later and noticed payment hadn't gone through. Kept trying via the app multiple times and it wasn't working - some sort of payment gateway issue and not with my card associated to the app. Went back to the car park and looked at the machines which seemed to give only payment options of coins or app. I had no coins so ended up leaving to park somewhere where I could actually pay. From the point of entry to leaving it was 42 minutes which was spent unloading car, faffing about with trying to pay, reloading the car and then leaving. Got the penalty notice, appealed and got rejected. I'll pay the 60 quid as it's less hassle and and not worth my time fighting it but,,, INITIAL PARKING = Greedy, blinkered scum! This attitude makes me not want to Fistral Beach again and as such not spend my money with the local businesses and stores there. Be aware,,, as from what I have experienced - if you enter and can't pay due to technical reasons you'll get fined. If you do enter and can't pay due to technical reasons you may as well stay there as at least you'll get parked. I left to try and do the right thing and ended up getting fined anyway. FFS!
Went to Wales on 22nd August to visit my daughter and parked in Carnarvon castle Initial car park. I entered my car reg paid the charge for 4 hours, but left after 2 hours. When I got home i got a penalty notice stating i left at 12.06 when my ticket was valid till 14.04pm. I didn't think I have my ticket so paid the £60 fine. I have now found it and cannot get through to them for a refund. Appalling.
