Worst paint ever, have now been trying for 2 hours just to paint 1 small wall. Paint not adhering and very patchy...looks awful. Got to buy different brand now to cover this awful stuff. To add to this, the colour is nothing like it's shown on the container, Oatcake came out as a darkish muddy beige, not a lightish beigey cream.
Have used Johnstone’s brilliant white gloss for years with great results. All I can assume is that they’ve changed their mixture or they’re putting undercoat in gloss tins by mistake. Just purchased this week and used this morning. Dreadful. No sheen whatsoever, dull, thin, definitely looks as if I’ve put undercoat on. Will let it dry and now have to repaint using better quality gloss.
I used Johnstone’s Ceiling Paint in the blue tub 2.5lt specifically for ceilings ....1 coat no runs tracks nothing I had water marks alsorts before due to a flood in my upstairs bathroom..covered it and doesn’t show through ....It’s like a professional painter has been and done it .....You have to spin the paint to get the right consistency like all paint....load the roller properly....👍🏼No drips splatters nothing ....I have tried to get a few more cans of it but haven’t been able too I’m fearing it’s been discontinued I hope not as I would use this every time .....Everybody hates painting ceilings but this makes it so easy .....Highly recommend this product
ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING 🤦♀️ If I could have given zero stars I would! On a primed, clean wall the paint shows through EVERYTHING! It is patchy to say the least, there are bubbles forming and it simply falls off the roller it is that thin! Paid £22 for 10litres -COMPLETE waste of money! Pay more for a better quality paint and save yourself time! Wish I had read reviews before purchasing and using.
I’ve been decorating my houses since 1973 and have used many different paints both in the UK and Ireland. Bought a five litre tin of frosted silver and from the moment I started to roller it onto the ceiling I regretted it. Paint fell off the roller onto the floor like milk, fortunately the floor was bare as the carpet is to be changed, then after two coats there were numerous patches of the previous colour, a very pale green, showing through. Some areas have had four coats to become acceptable. Also bought a tin of satin wood brilliant white to paint over jade green on a wood window sill and MDF skirtings. Didn’t expect it to cover in two coats but after the third coat with patches still showing and ridiculous brush marks I went out and bought a tin of Crown one coat which did an excellent job.All I can say is the consistency of both paints is milk like, the frosted silver lacks a decent pigment and I’ll never buy their rubbish again.
Johnstone’s Kitchen paintCould not get this paint to stick to the walls.Washed down walls before hand with sugar soap for prep tried it on a kitchen wall and also tried it on the bathroom walls with rollers and brush, every time I went over it paint would adhere to the roller or brush leaving big patches of wall without any paint. After an hour and a half trying gave up, returned the second unopened tin and bought Dulux
