Kickstarter supports a fraudulent company, Duovox (aka Fityision) and does not respond to concerns expressed by their customers/“backers”.This Duovox Ultra campaign, overseen and underwritten by Kickstarter, is an absolute scam. This device just arrived, after months of delays and an unbelievable $55 shipping cost (on a $129 reward item) which was never disclosed to backers when making their pledges. This item is missing pieces, and does not reflect the innovation and capabilities and quality stated in their website and app. I supported 4 other projects concurrently on Kickstarter which gave me direct context into how different, and crooked this Duovox/Fityision company and project was. I will NOT support Kickstarter ever again based on their complete lack of interest in investigating this company despite hundreds of supporters pleas for engagement to actively step in and help supporters and our investments.
Subscribed to the "Duovox Ultra" - a project which went on forever. Got the unit - no physical zoomX5 as advertised (this is a false ad then). The battery doesn't hold a charge - altogether definitely not what it said on the box. Lots of other poor reviews. I have one other Kickstarter project (took out midway through the last one) - probably won't do again. I hope that Kickstarter won't post any bland customer concern replies.Funny update today (24/10)"There seems to be some confusion around the 5X optical zoom. To clarify, the optical zoom is already integrated into the lens design." a wry sense of humour??
My complaint is regarding a listing for Duovox Mate Pro "Military Grade" Night Vision Monocular(s) (I ordered x2). First off, the company Duovox, started with a big deception by listing their business as being based in Newark, DE. No part of this company is based anywhere in the US. Everything was done from China. This becomes an important point because everyone was hit with OUTRAGEOUS shipping charges for a business we thought was US based. I paid $85 on top of $220+ spent on the monoculars. Then we were told these would be delivered in June 2023. Well, it wasn't until September that they claimed they were shipped. Then we received really bad tracking info for another company that wasn't even the courier. It turns out they were shipped through China Post...and the info they provided was fraudulent...claiming the package went from NYC to 3 cities in NJ then back to NYC where it was supposedly delivered (which it wasn't). And when I contacted them they told me to follow up with USPS. But of course USPS said they had nothing to do with the shipping of this product. So Duovox tells me to keep an eye on the tracking info...so the next day the strange tracking info from china post that already claimed the package was out for delivery 3 weeks prior, suddenly shows several new items in the tracking saying my package is now in Los Angeles being processed. It has now sat there for 10 days. I'm disputing the charges tomorrow. Kickstarter would not help and just told me to keep communicating with the "creater" Duovox. There's so much more I could go on about...but frankly, they're not worth anymore of my time.
Duovox Ultra night vision monocular , what a nightmare experience, project was MONTHS OVERDUE & Charged EXCESSIVE SHIPPING Post Order !! After shipping was listed as FREE During the initial pledge !! the deliverables were Poor quality, I ordered (2) units & Both have batteries that Don’t last 30 minutes, rated at “up to 10 hrs” ??? The whole unit is CHEAP !! BEWARE & CANCEL Your pledge if you still can !!
Over the years I have backed quite a few projects and was content with most. I am still waiting to get my rewards for three projects, but all these people have communicated well and are well known on social media so I am certain that they will deliver. But know that Kickstarter will do nothing if a project doesn't deliver even though it was funded and took your money (I've had one case which was seven years ago - before they even had a funded project where they delivered). You won't get a reward and your money is lost. Sadly, it's your own risk if you decide to back a project - please choose wisely.
Like many others are mentioning. Kickstarter will do absolutely NOTHING to stop scams or help you out. They will gladly take your money, but will never do anything for it. A project I backed was fully funded and they finished their product, but instead of making sure all their backers have gotten their products, they began to sell to retail stores while completely ignoring all those who pledged. They even offered to give people their refunds since there were issues with the project ( like basic stretch goals missing), but have completely gone silent and not logged on or responded to anyone asking for a refund. So when I contact Kickstarter to give me a refund or at the very least contact the project team, they decide to just give me a copy pasted answer. How do I know these people don't give a damn and just copy pasted an answer? Because the disgusting customer service support rep wrote this:"Hi there. Thank you for voicing your concerns with the [[PROJECT NAME]] project".The guy could literally not even be bothered to change the part of his copy paste that's supposed to refer to the project I backed. When I then confront them, they decide not to respond at all.Utterly unprofessional, disgusting and repulsive. I honestly suggest to people not to back projects on KS. Just wait until it's out on the market and save yourself the trouble and headache.
