I thought it was pretty clear that you had to cancel within a week to avoid the subscription - although they didn't say that in advance! It was fine for a UK short-hold tenancy agreement. It seems you can go into Admin, Billing and Usage, Edit and switch to a completely free plan which should kick in at your first billing date instead of charging you - we'll see! That gives you three documents free. Adobe Sign is better value if you want a paid plan.
The website claims to allow you to create a free authorisation letter to travel with children to a foreign country. After completing a ton of forms with all details about the children, parents and trip, it forces you to sign up to the website including an ongoing monthly fee before allowing you to create the letter. This is under-handed and downright unethical.I find this type of forced and deceitful driver on a website to be completely unacceptable and will never use this website again.
I sent one of the commercial lease aggreements to a bank for a commercial mortgage, but it was rejected due to the wording not being correct. They said that it was an American Lease agreement and they only work to English Law. This I thought was fair enough - Called to talk to the staff to ask what they could do as was just told they couldn’t help.
They claim to offer free will download service, but after wasting 10 minutes of your time filling in questions, then they insist you sign up for a £20 per month service, with credit card details, in order to download the free will. You can cancel straight way in principle, but this is a classic attempt to trap people and rip them off because when they forget to cancel, or they cancellation mysteriously goes missing. I consider this approach as essentially a scam. They trick you into disclosing your CC details for a 'free' service. Any supposed legal company who adopt such dubious, disengenuous tactics should not be trusted. I would give them zero stars if possible. Don't go near these scammers!
I went to use their Purchase of Business agreement, and admittedly was using the free version, although had considered paying them to 'check' the draft. However on reading through the contract it's a bit Mickey Mouse. It states the agreement is governed by the laws of the 'Country of England', but includes phrases such as:"Filing of elections under...taxation legislation""Wire transfer""Applicable taxes, including federal sales tax"All these seem to relate to American law.I didn't pay, but wasted my time. It's free, but not worth the risk.
I used one of their templates to draw up a tenancy agreement, and paid £29 which was reasonable value for a straightforward document. I hadn't realised that they had laid a little stealth bomb for me to keep on paying them £29 per month until I cancelled.
When I did cotton on I had paid this recurring fee 6/7 times. I'm usually pretty aware of these stealth bombs - and despise companies that use them - but either this was done in a particularly clever way, or my guard was down for once.
After several discussions they refunded 4 months worth of deductions, so it could have been worse, but not great that they set the website up like this and only refunded some of the money I was tricked out of.
There's plenty of other websites that can do the straightforward stuff they do, so my recommendation would be to either use some-one else or be especially vigilant.
